It's worth noting with star selection that the draggable rectangle area only responds to the mouse between stars. At a guess the mousemove event is consumed by star objects.
I bought a pair of boots and they're not longer equipped or in my inventory. I'm pretty sure this is a bug.
When I was trying to equip them somehow I had a pair of boots and a bat equipped in the boots slot.
As a result I'm $850 down with only my old boots.
It would be nice to have a melee attack. I would imagine it being quite weak, but you wouldn't have to or worry about ammunition. This could be an attack using the butt of the machine gun. Characters could be equipped with a survival knife for more damage, or a bayonet.
I like the mechanics, but I was unable to retain the skills I invested points into. I don't know if this is because I tried to go back to the briefing screen after starting the mission while looking for a level selection option (if so, the behaviour is inconvenient and frustrating).
This reminds me of playing the x-com games, except the game mechanics rely less on you being lucky and more on strategy and planning. I like the use of the hexagonal board, and that much of the useful equipment is available from the start but you can upgrade it. I also like the action point/movement point system, I experimented with something like this (my results weren't as good). Overall 5/5.
The targeting priority should probably focus on anything with captured animals, such as the saucers currently flying away with my cows, while the turrets fire at unimportant blobs which have not captured any animals yet.
I think the point of this game is as an experiment into 3D flash programming. The gameplay itself is very basic, as are the graphics, but this is the extent of 3D graphics in flash at the moment.
160 baby! 100k. Woot. I hear your nukefest. I suspect the waves are procedurally generated in the default mode. I ran out of money due to needing nukes. The turrets just can't kill after a point. I might try the laser maze. What would be useful is an average DPS report for each cannon. Probably difficult to implement though.
