Thanks for your concern, Gevatter. In an effort to help you understand our reasoning, here’s some of our thoughts regarding the issues you had: In regards to our newsletter not being a traditional game, you are absolutely correct. However, Kongregate supports tutorials and idle games, so this could be classified as a combination of those: it provides a large chatbox like an idle game, and provides information like a tutorial. The reason we’re uploading it on Kongregate as a flash game file, rather than posting it elsewhere is that we’re trying to make it as easily accessible as possible: part of the reason for the need of something like this is that many people on Kongregate stay away from the forums, never mind staying away from external sites they don’t know. That same reason is why we’re uploading them as seperate games – We want to make it as easy as possible for people to notice it. I do understand your concern about the developer points and the revenue, but we did take that into consideration as well: Rather than upload the newsletter issues on a standing account, we created a new account expressly for the purpose of holding the games. This way the developer points don’t unfairly boost anyone’s rank. As for revenue, Since games like this generate next to no revenue in the first place, I feel that this is a minor concern compared to the beenefits of the added visibility.
