I pretty much agree with the stickied comments. I think that this game eliminates some key features in BT2 that should be kept. I expect and hope them to be returned in BT3. However the method of customization is superior IMO than the old level up, choose a new ship system. Though I don't know what the purpose of bubble points is (when not being spent on guns), all they do is take up space, make yourself easier to get hit, and look pretty. Maybe if guns had to be attached to a certain size bubble and up, and some needed a certain amount of space between other ones, designing your ship using ordinary bubbles would be worthwhile.
There's no challenge to this game, and even what the player is supposedly supposed to do (destroy the cops), it actually penalizes you more than it rewards you. It just wasn't fun.
Yeah bowgun sucks against barbarians and suicide bombers. I think the problem is their hitbox is so skinny that it's possible for the bowgun projectile to fly thru it without ever touching it.
Beserkers still have messed up hitboxes. Frequently my arrows fly thru them and they take no damage. It can be annoying if it happens like 4 times in a row.
I didn't have a problem with day 40 as much as getting to it. it is the last day before the game sorta starts over with increased difficulty though. Plus it unlocks the elonia badge (which doesn't seem to do anything but counts as a badge for the museum)
I personally think this game is excellent. Yes it's hard, but I don't see what the big fuss is about. You people are too quick to judge, perhaps you'll be able to get further as you learn how to play it better and whatnot. I'm at stage 23 so far with several medals unlocked which will no doubt make future games easier.
I wish there was a way move slower. practically all my accidental hits are caused by me moving more than I intended to.. and I just can't use the mouse >=(
I like this game myself lz. however it is very luck dependant. For example I just died on survival with a low score because an enemy that shockwaves on death died offscreen before I could even see it.. blowing a nuke truck right into my face...sigh.
I've always liked this series, and I still like this iteration. I actually think it's an improvement. However it still has some issues that are just plain cheap.
1: you shouldn't shoot when picking up a powerup. it's very frusterating when you have an antimatter thing equipped for example and you kill yourself when you don't even want to shoot because it hit something on the way to the powerup.
2: There is still some cheap factor regarding enemies being flung to the teleporter from singularities or nuketrucks exploding off screen, etc. Sometimes you lose when you did nothing wrong because an enemy got flung RIGHT on the teleporter instantly (mostly a problem on 1 escape levels).
3: The game is way too unforgiving if you haven't milked alot of exp from the early levels. you should have the option of replaying old levels in the campaign, and keep the experience from the better attempt, whilst dumping the other one.
new upgrades are cool in concept. Unfortunately as mentioned the difficulty is much too easy. I think the height levels of moon and mars need to be increased. In addition the number of platforms should be reduced. With a decent amount of luck you can virtually ride them all the way to mars just by thrusting all the way to the side and "surfing" them.
This game was pretty easy early on.. and became extremely easy later on. I chose to max out strength, defense, and reproduction... I beat pretty much every level in the same amount of time it took to click each cell. never had to worry about defense or anything.
