For the past three days, I've been stuck on 2nd Lieutenant on a different computer than normal because every time I leave, the bar halves itself, and I generally can't play more than one game at a time. Anyone else have this happen to them?
How about missions? Like, every 3 rounds you get a 5% chance per rank of being assigned an optional mission. These could include Kill X Germans, Train X Troops of Y Type to Z Rank, and Advance X Fields into Enemy Territory. For Example, you are a Captain, and have completed three missions. You have a 15% chance to be assigned a mission. And make there be rewards too, like XP, or +starting TP next game, or extra credit for stats. Think about it...
It would be really cool if you made explosives for the game that are set off when struck by a lighter material, moldable into any shape, and if you made destructable pieces.
Neccessities, 1. Mute Button, 2. Quality slider, 3. Less difficult after wave 100, more before, 4. increase in strength of tanks on allied side, possible decrease on theirs.
Possibly add a cower function where if they have a low experience, below 10-20, then they have a chance to go immobile for a short time, getting better as xp goes up, for both sides. And also, add the ability to see an approximation of what health, rifle, and moral your enemies have, if you have a scout. For example, if they had 35 rifle, they would say 30-40, or 25-35.
People who comment about things not being realistic, in the same way that people in the Middle East are saying they fight for religion, just to make the game easy, when one of the things that makes it good is how challenging it is, shut up.
To clarify some things, it would seem that, 1. Gunners are not used for high damage to the enemy, but for damage control, holding down enemies, 2. There is not as much power in numbers as one is led to believe, a few strong units are better than many French soldiers, 3. Explosives are better not used, for the fact that they generally kill more of your troops than the enemies, and 4. Shotgun equipping soldiers and sending them to the front in trenches is a very viable solution to the fights, but to solve flamethrower attacks, you can use barbed wire.
New Buildings Ideas, 1. Combo Trench, Has sandbags on the edge of a trench. 2. Custom shape/size trenches, When you click the add trench button, the game pauses and your cursor changes to a sandbags sized trench. When you click the ground you drag the trench to set where you want to put it. You'd be able to click and drag multiple times. You'd also be able to increase/decrease the size of the tool with the middle button slider, and to erase there would be a button at the bottom to switch to erasing. As the size of the trench increases (measured most likely in pixels), the tactical cost goes up accordingly. This would make it more possible to custom create the battlefield the way you want it. You could do something similar with barbed wires. (Also, make it possible to order soldiers to cut down trees.)
Not that it needs a lot of changing, but I had 2 people behind sandbags, my 5 (yes 5) medics went to heal one, and a flamethrower came along and toasted them all... wtf...
Tips, 1. Most German grenades tend to land in the center third of the battlefield. Try to keep this spot clear of infantry. 2. Spec Ops are much better damage dealers than any other type of soldier. 3. When your soldiers have grenades, make sure they're on the front lines. Even a second lieutenant Spec Ops will throw grenades on others if he's put too far back. 4. Get a signaler and an officer, ASAP without hurting your starting soldiers. Normally you won't get an airstrike until after the tenth wave, but it happens. 5. If you have lots of tactical points, using them on gunners can suppress your enemies movement and fire completely, but don't rely on them to do too much damage. 6. Don't waste money on a BAR, buy more soldiers. 7. Tommy Guns have high firing rates, but lower accuracy. Good to give to your better soldiers. 8. Shotgunning up some soldiers and putting them up front is a good way to go for beginners.
