When I started out on this game, I thought it was just a Balloon in the Wasteland remake, so I started the game in the same general way, taking my time and steadily rebuilding the truck as I went. I soon realized that is NOT the case with this game. This one solves the one main problem that Balloon in the Wasteland had, in that if you don't start working fast, you quickly get overwhelmed by the sheer size of the enemy force. Though it's not my favorite kind of game, it certainly did well for the style it's in. 5/5
I'm not seeing the logic here.
"That bison used the straps around the wrestling ring to shoot himself out, but we got him back. We'll just put him back in the ring. Surely he won't be able to do it twice.
...He did it again. Surely he won't be able to do it a THIRD time."
What can I say? This game is sheer proof that "nothing new" doesn't always mean "not fun". Let's face it and be honest here, this game brings absolutely no new ideas to the table of platformer/shooter. Everything in it has been done before, many times. Nevertheless, I find that I can't stop playing it. Great work, Berzerk Studios. Keep it up. 5/5
Great game, really unique style to it. Took me a bit to get used to, that's for sure.
My only complaint is the dependency on the powerups.
For example, level ten is absolutely impossible without the laser field (and even with it, I found it to be still damn hard).
I think the Upgrade All achievement is glitched.
Just filled out the last one for shits and giggles. Nothing.
Something to look into.
Otherwise, love the game. Personally, I prefer it to EW3.
It would be appreciated if there were the option to simply click on the items you would like to use, rather than having to drag the ball to each and every one. Other than that, great game. 5/5. Looking forward to number four.
Great game, only one complaint:
There needs to be a way to shoot down the things ranged units throw at you. Even with good armor, the ballerinas still do quite a bit of damage with one throw. And they can hit you from two thirds of the way across the map. If there was a way to shoot down the trophies, it might be a bit fairer.
Or maybe just change the icon for the attacking castle to be a portal or outpost or something that you have to destroy to stop the assault, instead of destroying the other castle and getting nothing from it.
If Epic War 4 is going to be anything like this, one interesting idea would be to have a difference between attack and defense battles. Attack is mostly fine as is, but for defense, it could be that their units will only come for a certain amount of time, or until a certain kill quota is reached. Having to destroy their castle in defense just doesn't make much sense to me.
