The rusty axe cannot hurt enemies as it has no attack power (it can only cut down trees). I'll change the message from a "miss" to a "blocked" so it's clearer. Any other weapon will work.
I would love to have an option/upgrade to play a sound whenever my mana is full. I often play not idle enough to go auto, but idle enough to be a bit forgetful about it
This game reminds me about the time when Kongregate actually had games. You know, those things you play? Not to be confused with the "games" where you watch numbers go up and you can increase the rate at which they go up.
There's clearly a lot of talent and passion behind this game. The audio and visual effects are really satisfyingly juicy, the music is awesome and the difficulty scaling is just perfect.
If this game had more content (like 10 extra levels with more enemies and maybe 1-2 different playable characters) and better UI (I know I know, UI programming is boring) it could easily go for a few bucks on Steam.
Big thumbs up. I hope to see more of your games. But not here on Idlegate, this place sucks now.
Thank you much! If ratings increase and views are steady I will be adding some extra content. Feel free to friend me and I'll shout at you with any updates! :)
Really fun game, but... Do you know how many games got better and more enjoyable by stopping people from playing until they wait or pay? Zero. Zero of them. It's a horrible idea that only makes people close the tab and forget your game. I'm glad to see that one of your comment responses says you're going to get rid of the stamina system. Can't wait.
Played for 10 minutes
Noticed there's an option to pay to get an advantage in battle
Got sad to see another good game concept ruined by this shit
Closed the tab
I suppose you are talking about the reshuffle booster? I would understand you could think that's unfair if we allowed players using that in a PvP battle, but you can only use it on PvE battles, against the AI without interfering in anybodies progress but yours.
Every few days, a new "Idle/Upgrade" """game""" (made with Unity of course) makes it to the front page of Kongregate. They're all the same. You watch things happen and climb a progressively steeper curve with no significant milestones in sight. Why do they bother making them? And why do people even play those? It's as fun as "1+1" on a calculator and then continuously pressing "=" to make it go up.
But this game. Damn. It's still an idle game at it's core, but you can do so much active play to make it go faster. Where other games usually let you click something, this game has a whole RPG and a card game in it, as well as a bunch of other minigames. Nothing is quite as deep as a game dedicated to 1 of those things would be, but it's still impressive for an idle game to put so much effort into adding strategy and interesting mechanics that all blend together.
Thanks Tukkun for making a game that lasts.
I feel like enemies should have a steeper HP growth curve. When I die, it's pretty much always in one hit to a boss I cannot kill on time. By the time the boss' hp is that big, the damage is also so huge that my resistances just don't matter (and neither do on-hit effects like Nova). Which means that full offense is the best way to play. If enemies had more health but less damage, they would have a chance to poke the player more often, which means more pressure to invest in some regeneration and more utility for Nova/Absorb.
Okay, within 30 minutes of gameplay I encountered the same gamebreaking bug twice. The ship glitches and keeps going in one direction regardless of where I tell it to go. I can't turn, I can only go towards the infinitely distant skybox. Restarting the game might fix it but still, what the hell man.
I haven't played enough to have a solid opinion on the game, but 10 minutes in, I have to say the tutorial system is reaaaaaaaally bad. You should start the game by letting people do the best part. Do I need to know how to dock a ship before I get to mining? Probably not. That's tutorials 101.
Not saying the game is bad, I see a lot of positive comments. Just a little nitpick.
Why can't I restart the hard optional missions? What's the difference between exiting/entering and just having a restart button? There isn't any. It doesn't make sense and it makes me not want to touch the hard sidee missions.
Hold on. So there's an enemy that obstructs your view and that's supposed to be an obstacle. Yet when you are almost out of time, a balloon appears to OBSTRUCT YOUR VIEW. Seriously?
I'll go against the tide here: I think EBF3 was better.
The lack of minigames in this one brings it down a lot. Without them, there's nothing to do other than just fighting. That gets repetitive in pretty much all RPGs.
Other than that, I also felt 4th character was unnecessary, especially a single-target focused one, soundtrack was less memorable and the pokemon-style backtracking was a bit overused
Don't get me wrong, it's still a great game. I just didn't feel the "wow" effect EBF3 gave me. Nothing felt significantly new. I completed this one, but I never felt that urge to complete it on epic and collect all medals like I did after completing EBF3. Heck, I came back to EBF3 months later to replay it on Epic. I'll replay it again someday. This game? Not a chance.
Dialogues and story were still amusing and light-hearted, I approve
There's a lot of room for improvement. And I hope other people will point out some flaws too so that EBF5 can be the bestest game on the internets
