And still, Artillery is the game-breaker. I mean, I still enjoy the game, but the fact that the game sometimes decides to just wipe you the hell out with 2-6 artillery strikes (of what? 4-8 shells each?) is just ridiculous.
I agree with Gadfly - there needs to be some way to move groups. --- Additionally, Artillery is still overly-deadly, with no counter (No, Bunkers are not an effective counter; far too many Artillery strikes will hit at -least- one bunker, if not -several-). --- And I'm not sure the medal bonuses add in correct (or all the time) - I've yet to see the Grenade one actually work (unless it's the reason my -medics- have grenades), and some soldiers started with 18 Rifle... which, without the medals, would be what, 7? Do you really go that low on soldiers? --- Also, 2 dozen SitReps, and I've never gotten points for them.
Oh, and let me register my agreement:
Artillery needs -some- kind of control on it. As-is, artillery fire -will- kill you, eventually, since bunkers aren't immune (or even resistant) to it (just to the area-effect of the blast).
Wow, okay. I lost all of my troops except for a max-XP sniper.
He's been holding the line, on his own, for... 5 high-level waves so far? Edging up to 10, if he doesn't get hit with a grenade.
My god, I have to say, this is the first game in a long while that I've really gone "Wow, this is a great game."
I must say, sometimes the missions can be... honestly, far too difficult (Artillery Strike = Doom, for instance), but "winning" for a while is completely satisfying.
Lost my save data yesterday - if that is a common problem, given the time this game requires, it -must- be fixed. Losing saves for games that take hours is... un-fun.
Beyond that - Great game.
My one major problem is that the Menu button in the lower-right is just a smidge too high - it keeps popping up the "pause" menu when I try to get that corner on the boss.
Deffinately a nice little game. Much calmer than most of the games on here, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Needs more to it though - it's too short and has too little content as is.
Decent enough. I echo all of the suggestions so far. Coins and Upgrades need to be a bit better, and easier to get. Could use some music, and the speed increased a bit (if you do though, increase the firing rate).
I really don't understand the appeal of this game. It's pretty decent, but I don't think it's deserving the ratings that it's getting. A solid 4 at best.
Just playing through the campaign finally, and must say, just from that, I'm really impressed at how much of an improvement there's been. The first time the computer tossed flash grenades at my guys, I was completely taken aback. Plus I like that the missions have some kind of "plot" to them, and feel much more like real scenarios.
More feedback as I go.
Just want to start with this: I love this game, but I don't know why. It's very repetitive against the AI, and easy to "win" if that's all you're going for. Now, my problems (which are the same as many other peoples):
--- Needs some better balance. Give a reason not to just spam spears or halberdiers. I recomend making how much a unit is "worth" if it goes in proportional to its build time.
--- "Charges" should be limited to only normal units - no special units need apply. This is my biggest problem with Charges.
--- This game has a lot of potential; I'd like to see some additions, perhaps including a 2-player online version, and a "Attack/Defend" (which could be the default for the campaign), wherein the defender gets some structures, and the attacker can place some siege weapons.
Absolutely terrible, especially considering what came before. I honestly don't even want to bother with the card or badges for this - I'd rather continually hit myself with a hammer.
Seriously, take a step back, consider what you changed with this version, and consider how much of that was really necessary. Don't just put out more releases just to have more releases.
