That feeling when you have an idea for a really cool unintended level skip, but you have to go through the entire game just to practice it because it's on Level 14 (out of 15). Ugh.

...oh, well, I guess it's made up for by the fact that you can seemingly propel yourself upwards via consecutive controlled explosions. A fox that knows how to rocket jump? By God, we're all doomed.

"You are a caring, bloated, and persistent fox." You're damn right I am! I spent almost half an hour just looking for that last mushroom... would've been so much nicer if the Ohnem sight had been any help, and were it not stored in a giant hidden cave I somehow managed to miss four times over.

Alright, time to defeat my final obstacle: THE MOON. [begins launching missiles into outer space] ...huh. Not far enough. Alright, let's increase the launching power of my cannon, and— [still just barely missing the moon] Welp, only one thing to do now! [pulls the moon 5% closer] Mm-hmm. Yes. Perfect.

Let's count out the many ways this game lies to us, shall we? [1] I couldn't get the IJKL button map to work at all. [2] Having to tap Space in order to kill enemies is tedious and, in quite a few cases, just won't work as the game drops inputs at random. [3] The visuals are so disgustingly small and dark that I can barely make anything out. [4] The old physics engine is completely out the window, further removing any familiarity from the first game. [5] The old game had a tough but fair level design; this game just has you traversing gauntlets of traps and obstacles that seemingly go on forever. [6] Pixel-perfect platforming plus slippery aerial controls equals an infuriating experience for everyone. [7] You're not even going to let us try the boss? At least have the decency to tell us this is a demo version. I liked VDVP1, loved it enough to make it a favorite of mine... but this? If this is any indication of what the full game on Steam is like, I'm keeping my $3.29 CAD.

I experienced a glitch fighting the Baron in the second zone. Once Roald and Veradux were dead, he started casting all of his debilitating effects on himself as well as certain attacks... problem is, he somehow missed himself with one of the attacks so now the game is in a locked state where neither Sonny nor the Baron can attack... so all I can do now is reset my game and waste ten minutes of battle time.

By far, one of the simplest yet best games I've ever played. Pro tip: if the game says the current condition is foggy, STAB EVERYONE. By the time I finished Race #4, pretty well everyone was dead except for me and Josef Stalin about four screens behind me because I but him... and kicked him... and bribed the officials. Really, you can get away with a lot of stuff if you have the stamina.

It's a good game, no one's denying that... but there are three major problems—the first: SETS. It annoys me that you can't mix and match one-, two- or three-part sets with other pieces and make your character just that more likely to survive a battle. The limited effects of the sets isn't the problem, but only having one at a time per character can be irksome. Secondly: LAG... this game suffers from it terribly, even at the lowest quality. There's just so much going on that it slows the game down to a crawl; for example, the healing effect that's supposed to proc every three seconds takes ten or more seconds on my computer. Finally, CHESTS... you go along the most tedious paths, collect the key in that part of the level, get killed, sit through thirty seconds of fish counting, open the chest... and too bad, you got an "empty chest". That's far more annoying than anything, that I'm not rewarded for my time and effort.

Okay, either I'm just really bad at this game, or the "time attack" missions are impossible. Every other mission was a cinch, some needing the assistance of about three runes at most... but for the life of me, I can't get more than three quarters of the way done any time attack mission. Thirty seconds is just far too restrictive a limit to put on the player... or maybe I just suck. I'm not even sure anymore. Also, it's a little bit on the 'lame' side that I have to grind and grind on the second-to-last level for extra money to buff up my NPCs. I've been through it about ten times now and I still somehow don't have enough.

Friday the 13th event: "Your save file is gonna be eras—wait, that sort of stuff doesn't happen in this game!" Except it totally just did today, and when I look in the leaderboards under 'Refund Code', I see no eight- or nine-digit code, which means all my hard work is for naught because I didn't save my high score. That's just great... y'know what? That's fine, though. Anything with a daily requirement is more of a time sink than a healthy hobby, so I'm not mad. I mean, I'm a little mad... wouldn't you be if you lost about five billion hard-earned Yellow Coins, millions of Green Coins, etc, etc...?

I'm proud to say that I now hold the current fastest legitimate completion time for this game at 214 seconds (3 minutes 34 seconds), beating the previous leader's time by a solid fifteen seconds. To anyone who wants to challenge that, I wish you the best of luck.

No more hours of grinding in a Shopping Cart Hero game! For easy money, just do the following—buy every air trick, plus the baseball bat and the 'Pole Vault' trick with the bat. Just hit one or two of the cardboard cut-out cows in the farm level until Cletus picks you up. Then start doing whatever air tricks you want. When you get close enough to the ground that you almost touch it, do the Pole Vault (that's [←][↓][→] + [SPACE]) and you'll add two to your trick multiplier each time. To keep your tricks going, quickly follow up with an aerial Handstand, a (Front) Superman, or one of the Up-'n'-Out tricks over and over. You'll be able to afford those diamond-studded rims in no time at all. It also helps to have a lot of style-boosting items like the groupies, the money hat and the golden shopping cart.

Found a bit of a glitch during Level 6 in Hard Mode—this works in practically all other instances of the game in Normal or Hard Mode, as well. Sometimes, you'll find yourself at an unscalable wall. However, if you hold the arrow key TOWARD that wall and keep alternating between pressing UP and A quickly, you sort of "cling" to the wall instead of jump off of it. At the very top, you're unable to climb up the corner, but you can still wall-jump off the wall, use your regular attacks to stay airborne, and loop back around onto the ledge. However, a lot of the areas you find this way are usually ended with death drops—in the worst case, you will fall off the level and possibly not be able to restart it (if you fall too far).

You know what would be nice? An auto-save feature that occurs just after you finish cheating Andy out of his money and buying all that swanky gear before you end up losing it to a damn ninja goblin and having to grind for the money. All. Over. Again. AND REPEAT THE ENTIRE PROCESS. ALL. OVER. AGAIN.

As fun a game as this is, I think some reworking needs to be done on the game... for instance, in the level "Castle Gates", I shouldn't be able to phase into the castle's walls just by climbing them. There are numerous other examples, but this is the first one that you actually notice in the game. Oh, and by the way... your "Millionaire" achievement? I think you used one too few zeros... I got the achievement (and by extension, "Completionist") at 100,000 points.
