Any updates on that website? I like the approach to learning programming. I’m interested in more of what you have to offer!

Part 3/16 Rite of Passage

How many times will the following loop run? Write your answer as a number, like 5. If the loop is an infinite loop, type infinity.

1 for (var i:uint = 0; i = 7; i++) {

for reference, i=7 is always true as it’s an assignment and not a test so this would be infinite, yet typing infinity or any variation of it (string…

Hello, I found a problem in the programmer’s RPG
in part 9/11 in “Infinite Loops” you have this code demonstrated as an example of an Infinite loop:
for (var j:uint = 4; j = 2; j++) {

except that in this case the condition is NEVER true so the code in the loop won’t even happen

Hello Gregory,

I’ve gotten very into The Programmer RPG by a bit and liked it a lot, but I noticed a few of mistakes. In “Elite Training Zone” in “Concatenation” in “Part 2/9”, I saw that there was a space after the period in the second line of code in the parenthesis, but the display reads, “Sentence one. Sentence two.” instead of "Sentence one. S…

In The Programmer RPG in the Loop Lava Lands in For/While Volcano in Rite of Passage question 4 the answer to the question is incorrect. The question is how many times does the loop occur. The loop is: for(var i:uint = 0; i = 7; i++). The answer is 8 but should be 0 because the condition “i = 7” is not a Boolean.

Hey, just finished basic training in The Programmer RPG and I’m loving this!

But I noticed that the last update was from 2 1/2 years ago, so I decided to ask – Are you still intending to update the game? No hurry, rushed updates tend to suck lol. Just thought I’d drop a bug in your ear about it, see if anything bites.

Regardless, thanks for the awe…

Concatenation 4/9

9 private var stringFour:String = "Sentence one. ";
10 private var stringFive:String = “Sentence two.”;
11 private var stringSix:String = stringFour + stringTwo;

Did you mean line 11 to read:

?

Also, there’s a game version comment in the beginning training that references version 1.2. Sorry, I’ll go back later maybe and find it.

by the way it is me again, i’ve noticed an error in the review of the 2 second pack of lessons from the math island, on slide one you say Math.pow(b,c); tells us the value of b^c, which is correct but just under you say : Math.pow(d); takes the square root of d, which should obviously be Math.sqrt(d); :)

I am currently on the rite of passage for the first function section and am very confused about the answer to 14/15 I don’t remember going over this type of syntax, and would like some help with it. Yes. Part of the reason the update is taking so long is because I am developing a new teaching tool that will allow for much more flexibility. (Basically the Programmer RPG better in every way).
