I don't have a particular problem with the freemium model as long there is a way for non-paying players to get to the same stage as paying players through time investment. This does happen with the special resources being rewards for adventurers but there is no way for non-paying players to get access to a huge amount of recipes, the offer to buy them for gold from customers is way too infrequent. I think a good game, by insuring that there is a non-paying way to get to premium content, will not turn off players who can't/won't pay for tokens, while allowing people who don't mind doing so to, obviously, achieve their goals faster.
