I'm glad someone finally portrayed the tedium of piloting an alien death machine. The media always makes it look glamorous, but it's hard, boring work. Day after day slaughtering the same meaningless waves of humanity, but everyone thinks it must be a ton of fun.
Hmm. Gold seems to serve no purpose, so far. There's certainly nothing I've been tempted to buy. Cooldowns don't display properly, the fade fully cover the hotkey, yet I won't be able to cast for a while (leading to frustration that the spell I'm spamming won't cast). I also had an item that didn't equip properly.
My only suggestion would be a confirmation for quitting (since it's not something people are likely to do often with the life system) . It's right next to the fast forward, and losing a life when you're trying to speed things up is frustrating. Yes, I should be careful where i click, but...
I think the reason it got tedious for me was the forced end mechanic. I might be able to make it through all 20 waves...but no, I have to stop at 15. And my reward is that next time I can quit at 16. And then 17...
It doesn't feel like the upgrades and gain in skill really matter, so the feeling of doing the same thing over and over wins.
The enemies that did the electricity thing locked things up for me as well. Sometimes just causing a 10 second lag until I had gone through a couple bubbles, and one time locking up Flash entirely.
Now I have to go back and give the first one an extra star, since it isn't fair to rate them both one star when the original is obviously better.
Same broken multiplayer challenge, same bad gameplay, and now without clear card descriptions and with a much less intuitive interface.
Not bad, but the control scheme kills it for me. Having attack on S has you repeatedly tapping with your middle finger, rather than index (unless you shift your hand over, which screws up the pick up/throw buttons). There's a reason why every other game on Earth puts repetitive, high speed functions to the thumb or index finger.
Great game. These sorts of games and achievements are why I got hooked on this site, it's nice to have a featured game that doesn't feel like nothing but a grind again.
Although this game does create an interesting question. Which is worse, when you're unable to play an Ubisoft game you legally purchased because of the terrible DRM, or when you're able to play this Ubisoft game you didn't have to pay for?
One way to get around the hold fast forward is to left click and hold, then right click. For me, in Firefox, it locks everything up until the round is over...while still on high speed.
