Wow, there has been a massive misunderstanding xD Must of been the way I worded it. There is no spawn death issue. When I made that comment, it was more for the effect of how when an enemy tried to spawn under you, it seemed like the smoke popped up, and disappeared without an enemy appearing, thus keeping the player from being unfairly killed.
Whoopsie :P! Yeah definitely misunderstood that, unfortunately my previous "fix" actually caused a spawn death issue, but that should all be resolved now with the latest version.
So, I replayed it. I'd like to say first of all, thank you for all the changes you've made :), and now, more stuff. Right off the bat I noticed that none of the enemies can kill me. I don't think this was the intention, as this makes the game very, very, VERY, easy.
WOW thank you for that! I guess that's what I get for trying to make changes in such a rush! Enemies should be able to kill you again, in the meantime I will be working towards preventing the "spawn death" issue.
(Part 2) I felt as though they didn't work when I moused over them because they acted like background elements and not like buttons. This was mostly in Sepia, as you would need to change the pattern the buttons have in order to show it that you've moused over it. I love how the enemies don't change with the art styles, really helps when your switching back and froth like I was. The difficulty seemed to ramp itself up way to quickly when you got around the 9k score range on the first level, but I could understand how you'd want a very difficult game, as it would help draw the playtime over the 3 levels. All and all, did I enjoy this game? Yes. There are many improvements that could be made to make it feel more natural, and the menu could be sorted out to not feel as initially confusing. It has awesome and fun design choices, which are a big part of this games appeal.
The game just feels off. Its an arcade shooter, but I have limited ammo and can only shoot after I have collected ammo. I believe it should start you out with a half clip of ammo, so it feels natural that you want to collect ammo, because you've shot all your rounds and now need more. The LSD and Sepia background and music chance is awesome, that was a great creative decision, however, I would of liked it if you made a menu that I could walk around in. Initially, I was pressing wasd and the arrow keys thinking the smiley face that represents use would move, but after a solid minute of trying to get this guy to move, I clicked on the L1 button. Speaking of buttons, the Tutorial, Credits, Menu, and Redo buttons could all really use that mouse over button change thing.
Also, you can go "New Game" then buy stuff, then go back to the main menu, then press "New Game" again, get 1200 dollars, and you keep all your upgrades.
The tutorial needs to pause the game so I can read it, I didn't finish it because I was getting shot at already. It might be my eyes, but the trees could really do with a black outline, or they could be a darker green so you could see them when your focusing on the people shooting you. Criticisms aside, this is still a really fun game, just wish it was alittle tighter. One last thing, while writing this comment I've been listening to your menu music. I think I'm going to mute it and play my own music. It's really repetitive.
Thank you for advices :) It is my 2nd game, so I have to learn a lot to become good developer. My dream is to win weekly contest (even 3rd place) so I can continue my work on new version of this game, with better music, graphics and levels with more elements.
