You say you're open to suggestions? What about a shortcut to uprade to full? It would work great on ctrl key, also in pair with shift to upgrade multiple to max.
I've also come upon boss drops that don't appear available for crafting: fish fins and jelly tentacles. These are what they are called in the crafting menus, however the bosses seem to drop those items under mis-written names (e3 fins and jelly tentacals).
