It's a good start, but it needs more. Music, sound effects, more background so we can't see the empty space off the end, more tracks, and other racers, at last as an option.
Sorry man, but it's amateurish. It needs more animated animation, music and/or sound effects and shorter scrolling (the screen doesn't scroll until the character is WAY too close to it.) Those are the biggies. Kudos on the story, though, and keep tryin'. ;)
