I think items need weight. Otherwise what's the point of daggers that do 1d6 damage when you have a sword that does 1d12? To make weight not redundant, it should maybe lower accuracy but improve power, and maybe add a feature where enemies can notice you, and having less weight will make you less noticeable.
I think it would've been cool if the king (because of his illness) mutated into some huge monster, and you survived being stabbed, and you got to climb up and down him, like the golems.
