There needs to be more minimum time on Mission 5, the first bomb one. I can appreciate the desire to press for speed, but I couldn't get there in time if I ran straight to it.
I love the premise of the game, and personally I'm a sucker for this type of graphics. I do think the movement should be adjusted, it feels sticky at times, as the main character is easily trapped by objects that don't appear to be in the way.
Some of the tanks that fire a lot of bullets (I had one shooting three 5-spreads and another cannon), overload the processor. Game froze up and Safari eventually crashed.
I kind of wish you took the time to proofread this :/ I mean, I'm not a game developer but I can imagine how much this would suck and all... but it's not like this will do anything. Sorry mate, the world sucks.
It'd be nice if hostages and hostage-takers couldn't occupy the exact same space, or if at least the hostage-taker was always on top. More than once I've gone in to claim a hostage and gotten derailed by a shotgun blast.
To deathvonduel, it makes me laugh that you misspelled grammar ;)
My "Report Bug" button seems to be malfunctioning, so I'll throw it in here in hopes that someone reads it. If I have 8 cards in my hand (a full hand), click the button to destroy one of my own structures, and then click end turn without either destroying a structure or pressing escape, it freezes. It requests that I discard a card, but will only let me select one of my active structures. Bug ;)
Really love this game. There are definitely some imbalances, but that's the nature of the game. One thing you'll want to check out pretty soon: you've got a memory leak somewhere. Over a period of about two hours the CPU usage increased about 40% for this game alone. Once I restarted it was fine, but that's definitely something worth checking into. Great work though; I love that you've listened to so many suggestions.
I absolutely love this game. It's got a few glitches (I currently have a market without having yet upgraded to Irrigation), but nothing major. Game play is smooth and it's just hard enough to keep me entertained. I'd be interested to see a sequel where unit upgrades weren't completely linear (meaning that some units have a natural strength over others, spearmen over knights and the sort), so that a bit more strategy is involved beyond simply getting the best units. Ranged units could also use a bit of a strength boost. Great work.
It's really a shame when someone goes through all the effort to make such an in depth game and this but goes cheap on the gameplay element in favor of scenario and environment factors. It's clear you spent a lot of time developing this game and the detail is fantastic, but the overall effect is ruined by poor game design. The game is in desperate need of a limit on how far anyone can fly; I'd rather not spend 10 minutes hunting down one stray enemy plane. I hope to see you take it further, but sorry mate, 3/5.
Very enjoyable. I really like the concept of the game, but I definitely think it could be taken further. Needs a few minor additions, but overall very nicely done. I look forward to sequels. Take note that some of the physics might need some reworking; sometimes one can stand on item with a blade below and still be considered dead.
4/5
The rotating field of play is, for lack of a better phrase, pure genius. I'd love to see this game expanded with more available units and styles of game play. I don't know if you're familiar with Advanced Wars, but if so, plenty of ideas there. The way this game plays is great, so good work so far.
Jeez, can you say laggy? I put it in low quality and it still had a frame rate of about 5. My computer isn't a piece of crap either. An overall good game, 3/5
Great game, I just recently began learning to program, and this really illustrates how useful functions are. 4/5, just needs a few features (the ones MysticMagician said) and maybe move the 'Reset' button closer to the code box.
