I beat two dragons, both without the divine edge, I purchased the golden tickets and used them to multiply the gold i got after the rock dudes. gave me around 1500-2000 gold. I pretty much bought everything i needed then, and waited till i was almost dead at the dragon to use my elixir.
Here is the easiest way to get the badge: Do what the achievement hint says and pick the map Tight, put your person in the room to the right, shooting down the little hallway. Its only a one block path so you could set there firing your pistol and not worry about ammo. Hit the + raise this to the top if it helped!
