Wannaguess: I only see your score under "Easy". Haha, No wonder you found it lacking challenge! :)
There's a lot going on. If it's really laggy, you might consider going to the settings menu and adjusting graphics, as well as turning off the moving clouds and orb trails.

I think this game is fun and very well made. jmtb02 is definitely a very talented individual who has made a LOT of great and unique games. That said, I also felt this game has been done already. This kind of shooter sub-genre needs more of a twist with the newer games coming into it, otherwise it just feels like Neon, Neon 2, Abstract Sea, Hovertank Arena, Geometry Wars, etc... I wish there was more of a twist or something to make this game stand out more. Not in professionalism or style, because jmtb02 has those covered. But just something more different than what's already out. But again, jmtb02 rocks.
MrOsmose: Absolutely, I totally agree. In Bubble Tanks 2, there will be a TON more content. Way more enemies, and way more upgrades with choosable "paths" to evolve.

You can map the key controls by going to settings. You can change the keys to whatever you want, including arrows.

JohnSteel: I understand what you're saying. The game is definitely hard unless you know exactly what to do. It can be frustrating at times to be sure. But there's a lot more that goes into a game than that. Is this game worth a 1 out of 5, the worst possible score, just because it's challenging or could have used a little more directions than what was provided? When I take a look at other games on the site rated 1 and even 2, I have to believe that this game is better than those, that's all.

JohnSteel: I think you may be right but I don't think it justifies a 1 out of 5. This game, like all, has strengths and weaknesses. But a 1? Geez, do some searches for games rated at a 1 and I think we can all agree that POD does surpass them in quite a few areas.

It's definitely a game, although with simple game mechanics. It has defined objectives that must be met. A very creative game at that.

Btw, when I made this years ago, I made all the artwork in photoshop frame by frame and then exported .png's into Director. Those were the days...

Yeah, something does have to be done with it. I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do just yet though. I've limited it now to how many it can play concurrently, but it still seems to stack em up loudly.
Yeah! Finally got v1.2 uploaded. It finally has mappable keys. Also, floating collectable bubbles now are attracted towards your ship.
I'm working on adding some key mapping for controls right now, I'll be re-uploading a newer version in a few hours.

I think the largest feedback I'm receiving is that the game needs better/customizable controls and maybe make it more difficult with further stages of your tank. Both will definitely be addressed in future expansions.

Good introduction to game design. Although it could only cover a few brief points and was pretty simple, I think it covered some of the basics that new game developers might miss.

It is, the idea for this level was to try not to be spotted at all. If you are spotted, you can drop non-agent people on agents. Ultimately, I don't think a lot of people have caught on to the "tricks" off AAII, and so it's been REALLY hard for players. The expansion game in development will have a lot more objects to drop, and you'll be able to choose your difficulty.
