Hmm, after latest Firefox Developer update I get this error on quite a few games on Kong:
"
SecurityError: Navigator.getGamepads: Document's Permission Policy does not allow calling getGamepads() from this context.
"
A tip for those that might be struggling and think it will take a long time to get to the end (medium badge): Kill as many enemies as possible, i.e. don't avoid them. You get experience and a lot of boosts that make things easier quickly. Once I hit 50 % first time, I also managed to complete the game afterwards, so it was pretty quick and easy after figuring out that you should kill enemies.
A tip for badge: first round you probably won't encounter so many birds, but just starting hole one in Sunny Andrews you have two trees full of birds and you probably get at least four birds right away. Also the medium badge is easy and you only have to click 5 times in a row in the yellow field of the power meter. I didn't know about the power shots until I accidentally made one :D A pretty good game but it's a bit grindy to get upgrades.
I usually like these kinds of games but this felt a bit too confusing. Seems like the strategy is to learn and abuse the mechanics of cutting at the right time etc.
It's a well-made game but the extremely random encounters, drops etc. kind of destroys it. RNG makes the game replay-friendly and the variation can be fun and exciting, but after completing the game I still didn't wear a full set of equipment and I used Staff of Poison the whole run as a Necromancer. Sure I was able to enchant it once, but still... Equipment should be a common thing in a game like this. Most of the items I found also had perks on them that penalized the use of them. Some skills are also pretty much essential which makes others useless and kind of the destroys the core concept of the game being so open to player choices. I guess a game like this is very hard to balance though.
Also, maybe it's just my setup but the audio was really weird headphones. Background music was kind of playing from one side, but when I pick up an item or do any sound effect, all sound comes from both sides in stereo and louder, and then it keeps switching like that, which is kind of weird.
Last level was stupid both in design and logic. Luckily the stupid logic was in my favor and I managed to get the ball bouncing straight up and down after a few moves and just had to keep still until it was finished. The breakout games had bad physics.
I like the concept but the controls are horrible and it's very difficult to actually determine if you are actually winning a fight or not until it's over.
Hmm, the badge got really easy because of a bug that occurred after first level was done. I pressed the continue-button and nothing happens except that the level increases, so after clicking it 13 or so times the badge is done... not exactly what I was trying to do or expected, even though I did want the game to finish rather quickly.
Badge worked fine for me using Firefox. Spoiler for stage 16 and 27; 16: Open the kongregate link in another tab. 27: No need for scores to load, look at top left, a small snake game. Get at least 5 in score.
It's quite frustrating that the portals need to be hit quite precisely but once you get through 2-3 momentum sections and realise that the pig doesn't need to come with you in the jump, but can move through a portal in the arrows afterwards, it's not that far left until the end. It's a really short game but it's understandable if you get stuck at some section.
While it's better than the other Papa's games it is still horrible. The controls are extremely fiddly and hitboxes suck. So many pepperbombs misses and it's unclear whether or not you can hit a pizza-monster normally or a bomb is needed. Seems like normal hits at least don't work most of the time. Which makes it really annoying if you run out of bombs. The good part is that coins reappear and if you die you can replay the level and still increase the total coins you have, thus speeding up the process towards the badge.
If the controls actually worked properly, it would have been a pretty good game, but in Firefox it didn't work at all to pull consistently and in Chrome it's better but still extremely bad.
I really like the humour and graphics in these series, but there's just way too much text to make it enjoyable. Even if it's funny and original, you lose focus after a while and can't really take the time to read through it all. I'm sure the series would make a good and funny anime plot, as I would rather watch this than play this.
WTF, after a while the game just breaks down and don't spawn any more rockets. First came the lag and I had to go down to low in quality and no rocket smoke, but then no rockets... Very buggy game.
For those wondering about Keepin' It Simple: Use only Body + Stages and reach space. Stages can be above lvl 4, contrary to what kukuhbr said. Space Shuttle lvl 4 + 4 Shuttle Reactors at lvl 5 worked for me. Penguin in Space: Empty Body. Nuclear Launcher. Shuttle Reactor lvl 10. F1 Bell Nozzle lvl 10.
Obviously a very well made game in terms of graphics, gameplay etc., but there are a few big flaws. The biggest in my opinion is the pace of the game. Both that the game/battle speed is way too slow and that the power progression is very slow as well. When you eventually get to the later worlds/maps and face stronger monsters which can also be physical immune or magical immune, the fights become very long and tedious, especially when there's some random element of healing. Last boss fight is pretty much the same. Extremely long even when trying to pick on the weaknesses. Also, some scans of enemies suggest that they aren't resistant to a certain element, but still it makes 0 damage on hits. Really wish damage scaled better. And this was only on normal difficulty as well... it should be way easier than it is/was.
I really like the concept, but I found myself just circling everything all the time. It became quite tedious, as the damage was really low on the yellow orbs even on full upgrade. Pretty easy game otherwise.
