It goes from fairly easy and straight forward, allowing you to learn the various techniques that you need for later levels. Some may be a bit twitchy, but I found that simply clicking the anchors (instead of the joints) was easy and sufficient. After a while, the puzzles become truly interesting.

Brilliant game. One little mechanic I was disappointed not to find was the ability for towers to share upgrades. As another comment mentions, most towers end up functioning more or less the same. If they could share upgrades, any boringness that comes from that slight weakness would be offset by the funness of organizing towers to maximize space, minimize cost, and jointly take advantage of strategically placed upgrades.

Well here's a bug: I played as a mage of the Burning Hill through the Young Mages tournament. Then I was disappointed in how much of an ass my character was so I started over. It tells me that I may now choose my appearance since I have completed the game as this clan, which I haven't. Not game-breaking, fun actually, but still a bug I believe.

It seems like the bug-fixer button doesn't work in all cases. Enemies tend to get confused if they stand too long at the corner of a building, and this engineer here has been standing at the corner of one of my barricades just turning around. Hitting the button just makes him turn... differently.

Using cmd+click to discard on a mac is incredibly frustrating, since that is synonymous with a right click. To discard, I am forced to spam cmd and click in order to beat the right click menu and discard the card. Ctrl+click for BOTH Mac and Win would be just fine.

Awesome, Firebot. This has to be good. That's odd, it's already on fire. I guess these early levels are just easier that way. Hmm. That doesn't look like fire at all. You have some serious graphics issues here. Sure, there can be blue fire, but it doesn't look like that. All you're doing now is confusing people.

A glitch let me get to level 21 without having all the achievements. I went to level 20 to get more money, I finished it, hit Next Level. Then the chicken killed all three of my lives somehow in rapid succession. It looked like some kind of egg attack that I hadn't seen before. I got stuck underneath the chicken, died, didn't get the immunity, died, and died again. Then I hit Next Level (which wasn't grayed out, strangely) and BOOM level 21.

As far as I am concerned, this is still (after more than 3 years and hundreds of newer TD games) the best of its kind, by a large margin. The simple concept of combos makes the replayability immense. With 20 distinct combos, any of which can function simultaneously as any other using the same towers, but still with the possibility of combining any combo of towers into a single tower for greater control and space efficiency. Looking forward to a potential sequel -- expanding ONLY on this concept, not including any other possibly improvements -- I could imagine the advanced towers that get unlocked later into the game (Targeter, Fusion, Sniper, etc) being combinable with any other tower as well as the addition of more combos for existing towers. Also, I absolutely love the graphics. Five tons of flax!

This game in the words of one of the greatest comedians of our time: "So then God created the world, and on the first day he created light and air and fish and jam and soup and potatoes and haircuts and arguments and small things and rabbits and people with noses and jam – more jam, perhaps – and soot and flies and tobogganing and showers and toasters and grandmothers and, uh … Belgium. And the second day he created fire and water and eggnog and radiators and lights and Burma and things that go "urh" and … and Colonel Gaddafi and Arthur Negus. On the third day he probably got lists and said, "I can't remember what I've invented now."
