1. Unlock as much active spells as you can
2. Maximize soldiers' perks
3. Call in kamikazes and meteor swarm as soon as trolls appear. And repeat it when dark lords come out.
4. drop your men at one side while spamming spells at another.
5. Try to get your "mortal" allies away from close combat.
"You can't move further *than* the red line." :P
I like the style of the game. Reminds me a bit of that part in Monkey Island 3 where you also have to battle to upgrade your pirate ship.
