There should be a confirmation when spending fuel, It's been two times already that I spent 15 fuel recycling just because I clicked speed up just 2 seconds too early, and then without looking I clicked the 15 fuel finish now option. I know this is my own fault for being too hasty but please add a confirmation when spending fuel.

It doesn't make any sense that something costs more to upgrade than to build (except for some cases). But why would it take more resources to add a little to a barricade than to build one?
