Harder and Nightmare take "Pandemic 2" level luck actually. You have to pound the hell out of an area to clear it of zombies using multiple troops and as you're busy doing that other areas are becoming more infested and raising the threat to your fort. I'm usually a badge whore but that one isn't worth the trouble/ should be Impossible, not Hard.
Anyone complaining about beating it too easily isn't trying the harder settings. It may be physically possible to survive on Nightmare but not without a "pandemic 2" level of luck. Your bad events outnumber good about 8 to 1, zombie attacks occur about every 3 nights and seem to get 20% harder every day, and you're usually to starvation within a week even with losing a survivor a day or so.
If there's anywhere the difficulty doesn't go from 0 to 60 in 1 screen I'd love to find it. Seems after a few levels anything that doesn't kill you in 1 hit gives 5 XP. Feels too much like EQ2 except ... well... you can't group up!
becomes unplayably laggy when COVERED with zombies. It's stressing flash too much and needs streamlined or a low quality option. Shouldn't need a CRAY to play.
Great so... after 5 stages it figures out that filling the entire screen with bullets is the best way to kill me... well... yea, kind of. Not much challenge in that.
While I like new dynamics and pixel games... I DON'T care for a game where half your time involves holding the V button so you can see and move. That's not innovation, it's irritation.
I may be remembering an alternate reality here but I'm pretty sure Russia didn't have four times the Third Reichs' industrial power at the onset of the war on the Eastern front and yet... they're making 8 tanks to my 8 infantry. Numbers may help as well since I can see you're trying hard to be risk without being just another risk but it's not working. The fights are too random.
While the concept seemed slightly innovative for yet another tower defense game the execution and exponential difficulty curve with no hints tips or intro missions strip the joy.
1 star. add a seatbelt and perhaps it gets 2. Losing your helmet and then dying just sitting there is crap. When basing a game completely on physics instead of scripting perhaps making sure the physics works would help? Stagnant air carries no mass.
So... pets which are a "major element" are impossible to keep alive without grinding levels for them... you can't run from combat since enemies surround you... feathers take long enough to work for you to die anyway... yea, too irritating, too little fun. 1 star. If I wanted to grind I'd play grindquest. This just isn't interesting enough to justify it for me.
Perhaps change the description from ( Carries a large supply ) to ( carries a fully INFINITE supply and hope your troops shoot the right thing! ) may be more appropriate.
Badge count isn't updating after a continue. Has my roster best so far at 12 though I've completed it. Didn't award the bugzilla badge either. Pretty buggy on that. I also see I'm not alone.
I question the games physics. There's no good reason a ball should bounce backward after landing on a planet with forward momentum if the gravity actually pulls DOWN.
And no, clicking off and on again does not help when I have to do it four times a level so that's no fix. When I let off D and keep running another inch or two it's death.
Controls have some of the worst responsiveness I've EVER used. Repeated jumping after I let off W, missing jumps when I do want to. Too much of a chore even at level 3.
I wonder if the game even checks to see if a run is physically possible even with all enhancements. I wonder because there are many places ( 80% of the stage ) in Twin Peaks where a large boulder is a death sentence, period, becuase the mountain is so steep there isn't enough room to clear it with full upgrades without running backward a bit and losing even 1 second is death.
Do not like. Started promising but the controls are far too cumbersome and trying to command and heal troops while being juggled by mortar fire, literally juggled! I thought I was playing Street Fighter 2 again! just too irritating. Not fun.
I've seen side attack base games before and while they weren't as flashy they were far more stable. Too many memory leaks. This graphic quality and intensity of play shouldn't bog down like this. If Road of the Dead can pull it off I don't see much excuse here. Sad really because when it isn't crawling it's a fun game.
