Good question and one I've considered in the past. I ended up adding slow mode to give players more time to analyze the loop (this will DQ you from the badge though). As for players wanting to pause and step out and do something else you're right, slow mode doesn't cover that unfortunately. I am hoping the runs are currently short enough that they are quick to redo, but in a full version I'll definitely consider this!
Care to explain what the relics do? Also can I suggest allowing us to gather the water if we already have the bowl and not force us to talk to the injured girl first? (That would allow to not get stuck if you get the staff before getting the water..)
It is called impossible for a freaking good reason.. nearly impossible for real. I have been working for over a month on it and the RNG kills me each time. Reached the 6th floor of the gauntlet with 1 hand starting with 1 extra turn and the second with nothing and none of my shields -_- seriously the blights start to get out of hands.. so much you almost need 7-8 extra turns in your deck. I had 6 extra turns and 3 shields (because obviously on the last floor it was 1 extra turn and 10 golds to waste :/)
Really cool game, I like the upgrades and weapon system, my only gripe is that the move speed even maxed is really super slow as if he was carrying a huge bag of potatoes. Also adding bullets only to get them to spread all over kinda makes it harder with the exploders and spitters tho.
