Only decent game like this is Crystal Saga/Broken Realm/Wartune. R2games might have paying options, but you can get along without paying, perfectly fine.
Farmville is a clickfest, like this game is. If you complain about clickfest's you just might want to grow up and leave a rating on something that is in a genre you like. If this isn't a genre you like, then don't rate, for your rating is biased.
I wished you expanded a little bit after the "Attack the mugger" storyline. Can't wait till you make another one. I just hope you make it with a lot more heart, an extremely evil antagonist, a somewhat good or very good protagonist, and a girl they fight over, and the weight of the world on their shoulders. >:D
That whole section was actually added in the final revision -- there was an earlier draft where the game ended with helping Future Todd up, but I felt like the story could use at least one "good" ending. In hindsight I agree that it ended up being one of the more interesting set of paths.
My next story will basically be the exact opposite of all the elements you just requested, sorry. :( The central theme is about the blurry line between good and evil, so all the characters are going to have some traits of both extremes of the spectrum. A lot of the mystery will just be figuring out who's really good and who's really evil once you get a chance to analyze their actions in a different light with information from alternate paths.
The girl won't be romantically involved with anyone in any of the paths, either (spoilers?). Sorry!
This game is great. I have a lot of things to suggest though. Like a "Work" option which allows you to gain exp and coins accordingly to how long you work. And you could gain bonuses at a certain area you work, but get paid less, another offers no bonuses but pays you more. This work option would cost no energy, only the entire time you choose to work. If you say work for 1 day, and you quit half-way through, you get nothing. Another suggestion is that you add a platinum armory, and a gold armory. This will allow you to look up all of the gold and platinum items you can buy so far. And now for the most complained about suggestion of all, energy issues. I have a solution. You make an add on to the game that allows you to do certain things in the game, without energy. I'm not certain to what it would be, but It's going to be necessary to keep the 'action flash gamer' type that Kongregate is full of, to keep playing this game. I enjoy this game, however.
Just a idea, I love Mardek, why can't you make like a tournament in Gonzor each chapter, and make the tournament be real hard. And have like a grand prize in it. Sort of like in Chapter 2.
