I don't have the badge yet but I already found some strategies that seem to work. You can boost your shield and turret or put some points in your engine. It you keep running away from them with a fast engine they will make a steady chase so you just need to fire in a strait line to them and they will die easy.
Realy fun game, took me a while to beat all 30 lvls. The trick is to be pacient and think of a strategy using your first 4 pieces. Then collect the bonuses and only use them as a last resort. Don't rush using a piece if you don't have a way of putting the next one.
