Yeah there's no autosave in this game, you either need to rest in the shelter, the hotel, the purple thingy on the Wyrm Island or a tent you craft and keep in your inventory (depending on where you're at in the game or what you've unlocked). It's a bit frustrating due to the frequent crashes but if you save it often you can still make progress in the game.
(I don't know if the steam version of this is any more stable.)
Frequent crashes? Crashes are really rare for me... did you get an error log? Or is it your browser crashing (usually a problem with your browser or computer)?
They could probably fix the disconnection/spawn-killing issue by creating a temporary buff that activates during spawn, maybe something that either causes zombies to ignore you (stealth/invisibility?) or something that renders you immune to damage that will last until the loading is probably complete. If they want it to 'balance the spawn buff'' in case of inconsistent load times, they could also render you unable to attack or interact with stuff while the spawn buff is active. Basically you might get some 'time to be a ghost' if it loads quicker than usual and the spawn buff is still active after you loaded in all the way
There are 2 types of blueprints, "Blueprints : the item" and "Blueprints : the raw recycled resource", the forge only recognizes blueprints in raw resource form in your camp inventory (you get it by recycling either normal blueprints or handmade blueprints).
Also to go Full-screen on any kong game (if applicable) there's a cinematic mode button next to the ratings button in the left-hand corner of the game window, it looks like a grey square with a black cross.
Once the doghouse is placed it cannot be moved again (even if I hold the shift key like I do to move the other buildings).
I get it that there's no dog (yet) because you guys are probably still working on programming it, but could you please fix this minor (but annoying) bug in the meantime?
On part 3 of dog quest (whatever / 1000) Got to the Santa Rosa daily (at Dawson house) and I can't even click on Kelly Marsh to start the quest. D:
(Also the "invisible teleporting dog with no run animation" has been a persistent problem throughout dog-quest, IDK if it's because I use Chrome for this game or if that's also a problem with other browsers, but it made the Santa Rosa quests for the other parts pretty difficult as well)
If you need to clear a horde, poison+fire combo works best because it'll cause zombies to explode all over each-other for a nice AOE. Try getting some elemental kits, or see if you can find a gas-mask (poison bomb active ability), if you only got poison, switch to torch to add the fire damage.
(by the way, applying cold damage will nullify the explosion effect of poison+fire combo, so don't use that in the Freezer SP)
You can also try get some other people to tag along with you for that mission to make it easier (the taco stand has good loot, so if you need to farm cheese / meat it's not a bad place to farm). You can also try distracting the horde with gunfire or fire-crackers if you want to rush a certain location.
Oh the dog mission in the museum where you go to the taco-place that doesn't sell tacos?
Get a crowbar and interact with the door to the backroom to get it open, and make sure you bring a drinking-water bottle with you to give to the dog afterwards. (dog has a health bar later in that quest, I recommend bringing a group-heal skill as well).
if you're on part 3 of the dog quest (whatever / 1000) make sure you've got a group-heal skill of some sort, the dog's AI is a bit "suicidal" when it comes to combat (no sense of self preservation and will not avoid exploders/ vomiters and you can't really lead him away from the horde once he starts attacking) and he's got a health bar for at least one of the missions.
If you scavenge something and recycle it in hand without having bag space for it, you trash that raw material and it's lost forever. it doesn't magically go to inventory at home, unfortunately. So be careful about which materials you select to put in your bag when you recycle stuff in your hands, if you don't click it you end up trashing it (this includes dyes, weapon kits, clothing kits and other non-raw material goods you sometimes get from recycling stuff in your hands). But on the bright side at least this way you can avoid choking your inventory full of more plastic then you'll ever use.
Anybody else think that after you're done building stuff, you should be able to unlock 'capacity upgrades' to allow storage to hold more stuff / items to stack higher in storage? I can't be the only one who gets annoyed with having to constantly farm for water because of space limitations/ having other problems with juggling the inventory at home.
You can cheese the 'scavenge this resource' missions by bringing items that can be recycled into that raw-resource from another map/crafting them at home and then recycling them in your hands after you activate the quest (if you already activate the quest and leave the map, you'll have to start over). If you craft the items though, you will end up losing some resources in the process even if the quest does not take the raw resources away from you.
Stuck at 0/700 on part 2 of Dog-Quest, Dog won't Spawn at the mall (I've already farmed up quest items before hand, it doesn't matter if I show up with or without them in my inventory the dog still won't spawn where it's supposed to) Please fix this game-breaking bug so I can eventually finish the dog quest. The other bugs in this quest are pretty annoying, but I literally can't continue the quest because of this one.
Best place to farm meat right now is the Grocery Freezer SP in the mall, butter usually shows up in form of Strawberry Cakes found in other SPs, most commonly the lockers in Stadium SP at the college.
Although it'd be really nice if we could build a butter churn or something, or if we had fermentation technology for making cheese / alcohol (could yeast be a thing in the future?)
If you die and retrieve a backpack full of stuff, you may have to make multiple trips to empty the backpack, or you might have to dump a bunch of the 'junk' on the ground just to clear the backpack off the map. I've been able to get my raw materials back, so I'm not sure if you ran into a bug or not. The last time I died and emptied my backpack the skull icon never disappeared from the map menu (it should have) so there may be some bugs floating around.
I know the dev's website says sewing kits will eventually be trade-able for rep in the patchnotes... But will it be the recycled ones or the whole ones?
I think it'd be cool if we could maybe exchange the sewing kit components (the recycled ones) via the research table, since it'd be an easy way to prevent it from being a perma feature that'd confuse newbs (since research projects rotate. Make sewing kit exchange automatically show up as a 4th or even 5th slot until the player no longer has any whole / recycled kits in inventory.) Also I'd guess that most kits floating around are probably recycled because that's the most efficient way for players to store them (if you weren't planning on trading them before the update, or didn't unlock the item storage unit).
Also, since cloth was mostly used for clothing upgrades before this patch, can we please find more uses for it? Or at least make it better fuel for the fire?
BTW love this game.
Got disconnected in the middle of a mission (not sure if the server reset, or if it was a problem on my end). Now I can't even get back into the game because it won't load. :(
Is anyone else having similar issues with the game not loading?
Can the map survivor-gear item be made more useful? Perhaps have it generate icons that point to the nearest campfire /bike, or the current active SP in whatever location your in?
At the moment it just generates useless coordinates.
