You can still get the dwarves. From the map click quit and once you're at the title menu click continue (make sure you saved first). Do this three times & you get the dwarves
Not sure if this happens with anyone else but my camera gets stuck in one corner or the other very often. This can make it frustrating to play when I can't see what's going the other side of the level. i.e. (enemies stationed, revenge waves, etc).
