Poor performance, especially on later levels. Gameplay gets really repetitive after the fourth level or so; archers seem mostly ineffective (20 damage is nothing compared to the 250 of a warrior, even if they do shoot; and even the 500+ damage paladin has to hit later enemies two or three times to kill). Additionally, on level 10, my lower-positioned archers continually shot way over the stationary goblin guards' heads.
Looks nice, but overall not a great example of a defense game. Focus more on gameplay and less on pretty graphics next time. 2/5
I've been having issues with server lag and synchronization lately... It's pretty constant and really annoying, and is getting worse. I think you need to put up some more game servers...
Combat is easy and repetitive. Enemies are uninspiring and very silly. Huge amounts of grinding is required to get weapons, and in several cases the "better" weapon is really not worth it (Plasma gun VS Mac 10, in particular). Long, unengaging storyline.
Overall I'd call this game average, but nothing more.
Not sure how it happened... but somewhere between my first and second waves on the first level I suddenly had 4.2 billion credits. Needless to say the first level was a cakewalk...
this game makes me upset. the fact that i played it makes me hate myself. 3/5 because it held my attention long enough to buy toilet paper, and because the art doesn't suck.
@ all the people who feel like they're cheating the other squares... Who's to say you're the only object in their world? Maybe they're gaining happiness from you as well. And maybe they gain happiness from being with eachother. So you go to hang out with the four squares over there... well... the two hanging back are a little bummed but they know you'll be back, and they're going to try to see you again soon anyways. You're never that far away, after all.
Sorry, doublepost: Now I can't play anymore because every time I hit the road the award keeps coming up, like a few dozen times a second, and the game just lags out really bad.
I broke the game. I hit a couple cars just as I nailed 3 clear miles achievement and the game suddenly hit me with the award over and over and over again. I got loooots of money.
during the first dungeon, I found myself suddenly unable to rescue the remaining two priests. I saved, quit, and loaded between the first two and the second two, if that makes a difference. I'm not sure. Sorry to not have a more reliable reproduction process :( If I get more information I'll make another comment.
The "cheaper healing/bombs" upgrades are totally worthless beyond the first couple levels - you don't really need to buy bombs, and there's no way you'll buy healing more than a few dozen times over the course of the game. Also if you upgrade either past 10 it resets the purchase cost but continues to ramp up the upgrade cost.
