I like the concept. However, I make money just for the sake of making money. I'd recommend adding in an "end game" objective or system to keep people hooked, and this game can do well.
The emphasis on interrupting my enemies' major abilities/spells (or else dying) ruined the flow of combat. The skills are trash until much too far into the game, which makes it too long of a wait for such little return. Either you time it right or you lose; personally, that game style is uninviting.
I have to agree; this is a pretty fun concept. I can imagine a huge scene with hundreds of these blocks to blast to oblivion. Even if the point was just making a mess of things, it'd be a blast.
Great game overall but the constant dodging and slow gameplay stole some of the fun for me. 419 Intelligence and still having major dodge issues. That's only 81 points off maximum. Very poorly done on the stats. 4/5 still.
Very well polished game and gameplay. The ONLY issue I noticed was the cost for upgrades. Some of them are obscene! 7.5k and I am averaging 450 per jump. Good game but not soo good I want to spend 30 minutes per upgrade. Overall well worth the time 4/5.
Just wanted to say bravo on this game. Not many games that aim to be humorous actually are, but this one had me cracking up! I really think your idea is fantastic and would love to see you expand on this further in a sequel. 5/5 for the hilarious dialogue, witty plot and polished graphics.
@Booyah10: For the hard badge; Squarely, Bad Pipe or Inspired. There is enough space to build what turrets you'll need and a long enough pathway to extend the time before they reach your base. Try those maps with Che1997's strategy for an easy win.
Incredible game! I love that you don't have to aim manually (I don't want to ALWAYS have to do all the work) and the upgrade choices were excellent. Very impressed. 5/5. Getting 30k should be moved from hard to impossible, but maybe I'm not that good.
Not trying to mindlessly bash the game but I really can't get into this one. The robbers right off the bat are rather intense. The economy system is hard to get started. I.E. Finding out what you can and can't sell and where. The travel system is kind of a cool idea but god help you if after 3 bandit attacks forget what exact heading to be going. Waiting for the bandits to move, one by one, numerous times per fight is tiring. I'd gladly play a sequel IF changes are made. Overall 3/5. Feel free to downrate this viciously and supress anything but the same opinion as yours.
Seems to be a good start overall. The lack of instructions makes it less likely to be played by very many people. I figured out what the actions were fairly quickly and served every customer as fast as possible, but I only made $131, and I needed $200 to advance to level 2. I like the controls and the concept. The graphics are well polished as well. If you will, please add some instructions and more customers/better methods for making money in the time limit. As is: 3.5/5. With those updates and/or changes: 4+.
I really like the concept of this game but it has some serious issues. When I am about to beat down an enemy and they magically get "lucky" with a 6x combo, normally 1-2 attacks, 2-3 heals and rage, it seems a bit coincidental. Even worse than that is when you get "lucky" with a 2-3 attack combo and the 78-99% counterattacks kill you. Funny kind of luck going on. I expect the computer to ALWAYS have certain advantages but not to outrightly rub it in your face.
Skills: 1) Upgrade the swordsmen as soon as possible, until fully maxed out. 2) Upgrade the miners bag capacity then the mining rate. 3) Upgrade the base gold rate to max.
Fights: 1) The Swordsmen are the best unit by far. Using them fully upgraded makes any map a joke. That is the only unit you ever need. 2) Most maps allow enough time to make 2 Miners before the first enemy reaches your base. If the enemy reaches your base, pull the Miners back. They will dump the gold they collected and you can build units. 3) Attack in force. Wait till you have 10+. By the time those units die, you'll have enough to make 10+ more.
Ambushes: Make 2 Miners then spam Swordsmen.
Giants: Use a Swordsmen to run behind the Giant while the main force is taking the beating. This doesn't always work but typically it will.
Last Boss: Swordsmen! When the boss spawns, control a Swordsmen and nuke it with 5-10 others. When they die create more and repeat. Easy as that.
This game went from a total blast to totally annoying very quickly. The "organisms" do not scale well with the difficulty for the rest of the game. Rather frusterating to get all the way to the end and then get wiped out with little hope. However, I do find the game overall enjoyable.
If you're having trouble defeating any or all of the rounds, put your skill points into swordsmen. Once that is maxed then the gold refresh rate and the miners. I typically start by building 1-2 miners then spam swordsmen. Wait until all the swordsmen are created then send them in. If they die you'll have enough gold to replace them.
Excellent game! However, there needs to be difficulty settings. Some levels are extremely easy and others that you would expect to be easy are insane. Overall 4.5/5.
