If you have resistance to an element over 100, you will actually regain mana if an enemy attempts to damage you with that element type. Try playing as an Atlantian Magus and pick up over 100+ ice resistance - once you get deep enough (floor 10-15ish) you'll see a number of duel wielding blue chargers - they can't really hurt you (their charge deals minimal damage) and their standard melee attack will deal no damage but instead constantly restore your mana. It's actually quite a bit of fun chain freezing anything that can possibly hurt you with a semi-infinite mana pool and a horde of freezing buff bots following you around!
If you are having trouble getting past the quick guide: You have probably have scaled your browser's content down - use Ctrl +mouseWheel (if using a keyboard and mouse on Windows) to scale it back up!
