Nice puzzle engine, but it feels like you're only scratching the surface. You could have puzzles with complex, long-range interactions that require heavy logic to solve; instead, a greedy local strategy of using every square possible works almost all the time (as in, fails to find an answer two or three times in the whole puzzle set). Give us a level editor and I'll show you what I mean.
The cops are the criminals here. They change lanes without signalling to cut me off, run innocent cars off the road, and cheerfully plow headfirst into oncoming traffic to get at the innocent black car on the opposite side. The only way to get them to murder fewer civilians is to ignore the road and spend as much time as possible in the median. Never mind that the traffic lights are all stuck on green and so the civilians do a fine job of killing themselves.
Yet somehow I'm the one who takes the blame for all the senseless violence.
Made it to level 16 on my first try without (ever) returning to town. Eventually forced to do so by double phoenix flame wall with no chance to act. Nothing I could have done there. "Death has taken its toll of 17540G"
P.S. You should probably put a limit on the amount of chests that can spawn on one floor.
Too many undocumented ways to change weapons. On some levels, accidentally bumping the scroll wheel is fatal. Since my mouse has a very sensitive scroll wheel, it eventually made the game unplayable.
If you get stuck inside an object, here are the steps to fix it:
1)Stop moving. Let go of the arrow keys.
At this point you will either drift further inside the object or be ejected. If you get ejected, you're fine. Otherwise:
2)Your steering is now inverted. Hold left to pass through the object,
Would be 4/5 if it weren't for the glitches:
*occasionally freezes during enemy double attack
*spell accuracy not accurate at low %s
*occasional annoying stalemates only broken by equipment breakage
*enemies sitting around doing nothing
*accuracy of "Frozen" ability always displays 95% regardless of actual accuracy
Beyond that, "Dehydrate" and "Entropy-Blast" kinda break the game.
Please adjust Zodiac Memory so that it never has the poison and set-hp-to-1 auras active at the same time. It's otherwise a good boss, but the unavoidable instant death (even invincibility doesn't stop it) is just stupid.
Didn't notice the 20-second penalty until about 2 hours into trying the hard badge. Time on next run went down by 4 minutes. Verdict: I like the game better with death-warping.
@shgrum: (spoiler) Beating the nightmare is optional. Your Knowledge and Sleep levels don't reset at night and neither do the various non-health things you buy. So if you can't beat the nightmare, instead set yourself up to beat the game in one day. Then do it.
The default skirmish AI is horrible - it simply can't handle anything harassing its supply drones. It also gets owned by a cruiser rush, but that's a strategy human players would have trouble with, too.
