You've not removed the block on Safari. Playing the game right now with Safari, just expanding to a new island as I've unlocked colonisation. Game works just fine with the latest version, 16.5, on a MacBook Air M1.
Only oddity is it works much better with a mouse as one mistouch on the trackpad and it zooms in or out which is then hard to undo. It could do with keyboard shortcuts for zooming in and out.
I can't post on the official site so I'll post here. The game now works with Safari, with the ?safari=1 switch (which is why I need to play at cityidle.com). Mac OS got an update today with an update of Safari to 16.5 at the same time so I don't know if that is what fixed it. Managed to play for most of an hour without a hitch
Doesn't work with Safari. It loads and displays the map but as soon as I try to do anything it falls over so bad Safari reloads the page.
I see the remarks about memoty management but it's a simple 2D game using tiles, it should be able to run on any vaguely recent browser. Maybe when it gets going the number of objects will cause performance problems on older PCs, but it's crashing for me before it even gets started.
Thank you for letting me know. When I removed one of the Firefox limitations, it enabled Safari and didn't show proper message anymore. Updating game with this soon. About 2D, I agree. I see you are 3d developer which is great, maybe you know how to improve this :). Safari does not allow big canvases, but I use rather big offscreen canvases to make rendering really fast (with the cost of memory). It seemed only way to do mouse scroll and zooming of the map performant (in a browser!). if you have any ideas or tips on this front, please let me know. I am all ears :) (but please remember mouse scroll+zoom, that seems to be the main thing that puts off most techniques I have read about.)
Bug: I trancended 4.5 days ago, and so far am on 3rd ascension. But the option to reclaim/recycle ascension pts is missing. I guess it was disabled for each level once all upgrades were bought, but now I can buy them again, and it would be useful before first ascension at each level.
While this is not technically a bug and Ascension refunds are disabled after transcending by design, I kind of agree that it's probably better to have them reset to 0 on transcension, and gain 1 per AL unlocked again. It's a nice extra that doesn't really encourage any play-style that it shouldn't. I've added it to my list of things to change for the next update!
I see an error after the loading progress bar:
> abort(114). Build with -s ASSERTIONS=1 for more info.
Safari on MacOS, but I can normally play HTML/JS games
The game has forgotten my progress. Kongregate asking me to log in again might have something to do with it, but it should still be able to retrieve my progress either from settings on my PC or once logged in from Kong. No interest in playing through from the start again.
Game does not load. Instead it displays an error after a few seconds:
TypeError: Argument 1 ('sync') to WebGL2RenderingContext.clientWaitSync must be an instance of WebGLSync
I can’t reply below, but tried it again and the new version still crashes. I am not going to try it with a different browser, it should work in all browsers, especially one as standards compliant as Safari.
Does not work. I get a red empty screen then an error:
An error occurred running the Unity content on this page. See your browser JavaScript console for more info. The error was:
TypeError: Argument 1 ('sync') to WebGL2RenderingContext.clientWaitSync must be an instance of WebGLSync
My browser is Safari on Mac OS, the latest version of each
Game is badly broken. It just sits there "Loading...". That is until it crashes and I have to force quit the browser frame, with it using over 1GB of Memory.
Game crashes/freezes after the first 'level' with an error:
An error occured running the Unity content on this page. See your browser's JavaScript console for more info. The error was:
ReferenceError: Can't find variable: kongregate
This is on Safari on Mac OS X, latest versions of both. Stacktrace in the log but it‘s gibberish, looks obsfucated.
rubbel:
The biggest difference is the tunnels. Three of the five training missions focus on tunnels and how they affect gameplay. All forty regular missions have tunnels, as do all the additional missions in the vault (at least so far).
kbk2001us: I'm sorry, you can't on Kongregate. The vault uses GamerSafe's LevelVault for storage, but this depends on logging in to GamerSafe which games cannot do on Kongregate, so uploading is disabled here. If there's enough interest here I could add it instead using Kongregate's own Level Sharing: I've not yet made a decision on this as there's a non-trivial amount of work involved.
Seem broken since a few hours ago: hit play and the screen goes blank (dark grey) except for the play button (which no longer does anything). Tried reloading it but same result.
Actually it's not the having to load another page that's stupid. It's the fact they wait until the game is loaded to tell you. It would take a few minutes to move that code to the preloader and so not annoy the significant % of users on Mac who are forced to load the game twice (or not bother loading a second time, as I did).
I'm on level 63. Rather than work my way through another 136 or so I decided to shortcut the process: custom, 25x25, 30 sources, 30 links, 30 dummies. Took 30 minutes or so, but it was no more difficult than levels 40 - 60. Assuming that's as difficult as they get in colour I think I'll stop at 63, as it's getting less fun and more of a chore each new level.
