It's a great start! I know it was for OGAM and for being made in a few days it is great. If you come back to it here are some thoughts (that you can take with a grain of salt, because I'm horrible at finishing games!)
The hitbox on the ship is kind of hard to distinguish. Sometimes I'm sure I'm about to get hit and then I don't, others I think I'm safe and then BOOM...dead.
The movement feels a little too delayed for my taste. Adds challenge I suppose, but it just feels a bit off. IDK maybe it is just me :)
A pause button would be nice as well as a mute button since the music gets a bit repetitive.
The graphics are cool! I love the trippy retro feel they have!
Also MORE LEVELS...obviously :)
Have fun with the rest of your OGAMs!!!!
Thanks - you are spot on about the ship hitbox - I would always make this the same or smaller than the sprite, but I must have tweaked the sprite size slightly and forgotten to change the hitbox ... it should be much tighter now (and a little easier as a result). Pause, music and sfx toggles are certainly something I'll add in a future version, just didn't quite make it in this time.
Really enjoyed it. 4/5. Autoshoot would be nice or just hold down mouse to fire. I personally like it better without the grainy effects but the -1 star was really due to the no autoshoot.
So the chick can transport? So I got flung off a cliff by some teenage mutant ninja werewolf thing for nothing? What a beotch! j/k great game! I can't wait to see more!
@blondiegirl Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the ideas :)
I'll hopefully have the final version done in the next few months. College has been eating up a LOT of my time lately, but I should be able to at least devote my weekends to working on it :)
This is from the book "Unity 3D Game Development by Example" by Ryan Henson Creighton right? Great book! Lots of great info. "Unity Game Development Essentials" by Will Goldstone is also a great read. I recommend both for anyone wanting a crash course in Unity. I'm currently working through both texts.
