Well this is annoying. the character ran across the map and aggroed everything. Now they are all grouped, and after killing on of the very weak monsters, a really strong one spawned. It's basically impossible to play.
Yeah that happens sometimes, but it's intentional. Your raider is still weak, so he will have to make a couple rounds between the farm map and the base (to heal), but he will slowly chip away at the farm monsters until they die. Eventually you will you get more raiders, and also level them up. Soon enough these farm monsters will provide no challenge for you :D
Once you've purchased all the active abilities the Time Warp button will appear. You need Time Cubes to Time Warp, which you earn by destroying the blue Time Cube blocks that start appearing on arena 100.
wow, this is surprisingly engaging, even as an idle game, and has pretty decent sound assets. One problem I have is that it looks like there are purchasable upgrades next to the weapons, but clicking them doesn't seem to purchase them.
I don't see the point of the heat container thing. It takes up room, and makes it take significantly longer to cool down, effectively increasing the heat generated. Could someone tell me what use this is, except for maybe for when you royally screw up? (And event then, a fan would give you more time to react, from my testing.)
the shooting mechanics are fiddly to say the least. There's significant lag between moving my mouse, and the character moving, and when it does move, it's roughly the speed of the enemies. And if an enemy is inside of you, you can't hit it, and it keeps dealing damage. quite annoying.
something I don't like: I increased the capacity of my main thing's heat, and then, instead of pumping it out, like it was, it pumps the heat into the main heat bar. Sure, it remains around 5-10% of my maximum, but come on! I've got more than plenty of fans to disipate all the heat I make
This is a great game, and in fact, I plan to model my combat system in most of my future games I have planned on your system, but I must say, outside of that, the game really chugs my computers that aren't my gaming PC (which I tend to leave at a home), even in the smallish areas. It is extremely hard working in towns.
This is likely a case of having a tonne of objects on the screen at once. A zoom in feature could help solve this, or perhaps having an additional option of "animations" with "on" and "off." While turned off, instead of having dozens of objects, you'd basically be seeing a screenshot + your character. You could run into problems with roofs obscuring your view, unless you took them off in the screen shot.
Of course, this is on like a 150 or so dollar laptop. Probably not truly necessary to optimize it for something like this, but this is the only criticism I have of it at this time.
Thank you. I'm glad you liked the combat system, and I'm surprised more games hasn't done a system like this already.
Anyways, I know it's a laggy game. And I admit that the programming and artwork is done very badly from the ground up. I tried to optimize it as much as I could but nothing made much of a difference. I started this game 5 years ago in college when I didn't know what I was doing, so I started off badly. :P
2 conscripts are enough for a 2 difficulty missions, but 20 conscripts and 4 scrappers aren't enough for a 4 difficulty mission??? These difficulty numbers are so damned useful. I definitely know when I can do a mission and not lose everyone.
also, make it so either a) when you scroll in game, it locks the scroll, so you're not scrolling the web page, or b) give a way to scroll taht doesn't involve the mouse whell, or c) both.
I think this is the only idle game where I didn't feel like my time was being eaten up senselessly. nice job. a bit more explanation on the jobs and such would be nice...or more explanation at all
