Reconfirmed. Each new event raid gets more difficult by at least 40%. This is dumb. If there's some kind of first run bonus say so. Otherwise, I'm forced to conclude that it's just going to get harder faster than I can beat it, which would mean the devs don't want anyone who doesn't spend money to ever beat a raid.
