Great game so far. A few things needed for end-game (or worked into the mid-game): building towns, currency as a late game resource, late-game land expansion reveals new types of terrain, more advanced resources, graphical updates to buildings every 10(?) levels, etc. The good thing is, you can always update the game and "cash-in" every updated building down to the original resources.
Really love the game. Could use something early on... not sure exactly what it was but something almost made me stop early on. Maybe it was a bit complicated, or there was a break in the early progression where I expect things to come fast, or maybe it was the lack of a compelling goal? Like, I'm going to build a huge city at the end of this! Also, the game ends too quickly for an idle game. Would be really cool in add a "rebirth" game mechanic, but not sure how you could implement it. Other ideas: 1) distant exploration leads to new land types -> snow, desert, jungle. You can build new advanced resources on these tiles. 2) add building houses / cities 3) add gold as a resources eventually, and the ability to sell other resources for gold (but at an exchange rate that makes sense, like logs would be very little gold)
Very interesting concept and fun game. 4.5/5 Something about the game balance or mechanic is still off. Some towers are almost useless, some are overtly powerful (cannon tower). I don't like how its not really possible to "maze", since towers block projectiles. Maybe if more tower attacks "passed" through blocks, it would be more interesting. Anyways, hope for a sequel.
I really like deep, long games, and this game is not bad, but I had a hard time giving this a 5. Balance doesn't seem quite right. Strategy doesn't quite have enough intuitive aspects. The feel of control, customization, and tactical involvement isn't quite there. So 4/5
