strawdog, no wonder it's called *startegy*. You have to look for the soldiers' weaknesses, and upgrade/add towers for optimal damage ratioes. For example, Elite Soldiers are strong vs. bullets, but weak vs. eletricity. Vice versa for Marine Soldiers...
Tip of the Week: (For next week)
There are incidences when there will be weak and strong units vs. each other.
In my cases so far...
Rifleman>Gunner (Long range)
Gunner>Rifleman (Short Range)
Mortar+ Truck
Tank+ Ground units
Tank++ Support units/vehicles
Vehicles- Air superiority
"Chuck Norris can consume a gallon of milk in one hour... AND NOT THRIOW UP"
I can too...
In fact, I can drink the same amount of chocolate milk in like 5 min. >.>
Tip of the Week:
Be sure to have a mixed defense, with structures, a vehicle/implacement, and a couple squadrons of infantry. To top it all off, upgrade your soldiers and call in support, when you have the extra points to spare.

In beating "The Roundabout", I found a great base for my defense included:
2X Fire Warrior
1X Energy Warrior
3X Fire Mage
3X Energy Mage
Be sure to use a lot of Debuffers and Archers. They make the difference!
I named mine Swine flu, too. It started in Madagascar, (It actually did in real life!) and took a while, but I eventually achieved Ultimate Relaxation on Realistic.

Tip of the Week:
Though the M1 Garand and M1A1 Carbine cost the same, the Garand is a standard-issue rifle for medium range shooting, and the Carbine is a long-range rifle.
