The critical hits are extremely over powered, but I think it actually adds something to the game by being this way. I doubt it was the intention, but the OP criticals keep me a little worried about facing even the tiniest ship. Without that, at a glance you could almost perfectly predict a battle's outcome. With this huge wild-card in the mix, I've had seemingly 1 sided battles flip to the losing team's favor. So over all... not bad.
