The first time I got past Wave 6 or so was with an all-out attack party, Ninjax2 + Cat + Pirate. They were able to spray so much firepower that some waves had no survivors. Went on to beat the game.
The Rabbit is wonderful as its +40 speed is actually noticeable even before the speed boost special. The "Always press spacebar!" team of Rabbit + Cat + Witch + Robot actually managed to earn a win, and had a pretty good time of it once they got 3 boosts to special and a couple in attack. I had enough candy to max everything out with a few hundred to spare and the Robot could have farmed up a bunch more if against the last boss if there was any reason to.
Pretty fun, but those levelups are definitely too far apart time-investment-wise. Not to mention that +75 to everything is more than any 2 characters put together can contribute. I'm not sure this needs fixing, but it's a little sad to think how impossible it would be to win this on the first run or 3.
I give up. Every bullet the last boss shoots makes the whole game stutter. No effects are on, sound and music are off, quality is low.
I can't even tell the difference between the input lag and missed keystrokes, so I'm single-jumping the explosions a second late, and I'm gliding into the bombs.
There is fun to be had in this game, but since I'm not having it anymore I'm done. Thanks for making it.
I've modified the options menu so there is a new setting for disabling particles. See if that helps. The final boss uses a lot of particles so that is probably why the final boss fight slows everybody down.
This is really nice so far. Level-load-lag is a bit unfortunate, but it's only really a problem in the big room where you get the glide ability. It would be nice if it didn't have to reload the same room after I died as it takes a couple of minutes to stop stuttering.
Was fun for quite a while. Then everything was KOing my troops in one or two hits while my ranged units walked right into the attack range of a giant elephant with a hammer. The ai could use a little tweaking in that regard. I lost the Orca King map because my 7 beholder staff mages suicided against the boss after a slow and ponderous victory against the rest of the level.
I can confirm that nothing special happens at lvl 99 and that dismissing a guardian gives a full refund. Be sure to spend it before leaving the summon screen or you lose everything above your max mana.
I really would prefer a different font for the numbers, it's cute but hard to read. At medium and low quality it's hard to distinguish between 5,6,8, and 9.
Neat game, and fun.
I kind of wish I could see the results of leveling guardians. It's neat when they get visible changes at levels 4 and 7 but I can't see what makes my level 70 wide shooter guardian worth spending a couple hours grinding for.
I just decided to check in and see if this great game had any changes since I last played it. I don't remember there being any animations, are those new?
Ok, what do I have to do to keep this game loaded? I spent pretty much the whole day playing, took a break for a couple hours and it had to load again. I wouldn't complain if it wasn't huge, but it is.
Is it part of how Kongregate works?
I'm really impressed by the auto-grab mechanic. Not a lot of games would both auto-grab vines and allow you to jump your full height before re-grabbing.
Um, my cat is stuck. He binged with the yarn ball and then landed in a triangle of posts. He is too fat to escape. There should be a score bonus if your cat gets trapped, and a way to get him out.
Quite fun. I like the flock of birds concept, it works really well. Bulldozing the 10th wave with my killer flock is great, though seeing all that money I won't be able to spend is a little disappointing.
Biggest flaw is the complete lack of ambition in the achievements. I had all of them but the "complete X levels" done by the end of the third level.
The other comments say just about everything (good and bad), but I wanted to know if there is a reason I can't dual-wield knives. They are clearly not two-handed weapons whatever the error message says.
It probably isn't worth playing the game on normal since skill isn't as important as time-invested, so you may as well overkill a few enemies for fun.
