Heh. The number is for how many mines are in sight. The yellow square means it’s directly next to the hint (vertical/horizontal only). Flag the mines and reveal the squares that aren’t hiding a mine. The yellow square is the most basic hint – there will be more advanced hints later on but each one is introduced with a proper explanation.
