Very pleasant game! Nice graphics, great voices (reminds me of Don Hertzfeldt). The scrolls also remind me of hotdogs in a blanket! Can't unsee. On the last level, with the guys on the end, if you lay-up the hotdogs beside the gap then they'll get pushed in as the platform slides.
Here’s a list of the Sorcerer Diary entries. There’s only one secret area for every 5 floors, and it will appear on a random level every time. Day 1, Day 3, Day 12, Day 25, Day 60, Day 75, Day 104, Day 160, Day 285, Year 2 Day ???, Year 3, Year 5, Year 7, Year 20, Year 22, Year 24 Day 1.
Stat gems will continue to appear in a region as long as you don’t enter the shop at the end of those levels. So if you use the escape wings on any level ending in 9 then you can keep harvesting stat gems from the levels since the last shop. This is a good way to get more powerful and it’s better than leveling up, but it’s clearly better to harvest gems on levels that are giving you meaningful XP. There is no shop on level 50. The last level is 80.
You can add enchantments multiple times to change the item properties. My favorite enchantments are: MP regen, HP regen, XP Bonus, Bleed, Decimate, Critical Hit Chance, and Dodge. Later in the game I started to prefer Insta-kill, Dodge, and Critical Hit.
I upgraded each tree until I had two of the big icons in each tree, then I finished the Warrior tree, then started on the Magic tree.
You can use the Transmute Spell to bring the berries outside of the cave for the NPC in the Inn. The next day he’ll give you an Ultimate HP Potion.
At first I thought the upgrades were too expensive, but the more I played the more fun I had and the upgrade cost stopped being annoying. I recommend upgrading the Treasure Hunter in the Weaponshop early and often; by level 3 money isn't really an issue - as long as you're good at killing. This is really a great game! Oh, and after you beat the sea monster you have to start a new game to play in the Avemaria.
I got screwed out of the excalibur due to a game glitch! I died after I dug it up, and now it shows up in my treasure chest, but not in my stats screen.
Awesome game! This is one of the few games that I keep playing beyond the Kongregate achievements - and probably the most fun "hard" badge I've been awarded. Keep making games like this one!
Great game! Wish there were more worlds. The Colosseum challenges were hard the first times through, but they totally helped in figuring out the best way to attack enemies. You can get into the pub once you level up all the way and you'll receive a prize as the 1000th customer. If you want to keep the game fun don't level up to 21 in attack, instead level up in magic (special attacks only cost 1 magic) and use the special attack on the black ice wand (#8). You'll become a walking hurricane of snowballs. The level 21 sword attack makes the game a little too easy. Of course, once you have level 21 in any category the Colosseum challenge is a cinch and racking up another 99999 exp is easy.
It's a maze. The practical solution is to chose a direction, either left or right, and go that way every time. When you hit a dead end, turn around and continue choosing the same direction at every juncture. In this case you have to relate the direction to the demon; i.e. HIS left or HIS right. Not a big deal. Skipping is for children and fairies.
16 days!! Just barely squeeked in was floating above water for last 800 feet... Last best was 19 days, so made a huge jump.
Icemastas comment mostly threw me off as I was slowing myself down unnecessarily. What worked for me was first add 1 acceleration to get 40ft on second jump to afford glider for day 3. Then get goals that are easily achieved, "up xx feet" and "glide xx seconds" usually the first to go for, then once next ramp is open go for them again. The speed and distance goals usually need the next glider to achieve easily. Upgrade fairly evenly always keeping in mind what the next goal you are going to try for next, but avoid buying in small increments as it's more expensive. I usually used most of my rocket boost right off the launch to get up to a good speed and cruising altitude (maybe around 150 ft) then glide away at 0% resistance until I get down to 20 ft altitude. Then pull back a bit to gain some height and glide back down at 0%, repeat or adjust as necessary.
