To those who are saying "Build the game then add the story": That is like saying Build a story around the game, Did they Make Halo's Game play Before the story? No. Did they do the same with Final Fantasy? No. Gears of War? No. Legend of Zelda? No. Older games like Sonic and Mario had a very simple "objective" with a short story behind it so you know why you are doing this. To those who say "Make the game then the story." Do you research before posting, please.
