The "The Betrayed" Ending made me genuinely sad because it's unlikely we will ever get another Henry game, and they're a really fond memory of my high school time
Very well done little game. On-Point Mechanics, pretty much standard upgrades, VERY interesting boss designs. There are only two minimal things i didn't like: While the bosses had massive variation, the music stayed the same. Would've been nice to have small changes in it based on what boss you're fighting (additional instruments tuning in and out a la Super Mario Yoshis Island) and i did experience a bit of slowdown despite my very robust computer due to what i'd guess are flash limitations.
For a sequel, there'd be only two things i'd want changed: A little more variation in the music (dynamic?) and a small introduction to the bosses when they are first encountered. And maybe a bit more protagonist humor, i loved the "Don't we have an army for this kind of stuff" joke ^^ Flash games are perfect for that kind of humor.
And for the love of god, NEVER add quicktime events XD
I wish you had found a different way of difficulty than dumb ai companions using up all your teams tickets before you get a chance to kill enough aliens even while playing nearly perfectly. Losing games with stats like 22/3 is very frustrating and put me off finishing the alien campaign.
Finally a game that is NOT about grinding content in a repetitive upgrade / "Progression" System and instead just bases around your pure skill of positioning and timing, as well as enemy knowledge. Clean, decicive mechanics, a really funky chilly soundtrack and some of the hardest non-cheesy bosses i have EVER seen in a browser game, that require actual skill to beat. That on top of the amazing creativity in the enemies, which are originally just different colored jelly blobs, really makes this one of the best games on the site. 10/10, 5/5, you name it.
The only thing i can criticize about this game is how it abuses ninja bosses to force you into grinding exp and coming back when you have the mana pool and other upgrades to oneshot them with a barrage of meteorites. Feels a little like a cheap stretch for an otherwise great game.
I would be super excited if this was turned into a TV series. There's more story and heart in this than in a lot of sci-fi series's out there (for example the first few rubish seasons of clone wars or the completely cut off SGU)
I just found this and i have to say, this has to be the ULTIMATE time-waster game :D I can hardly imagine how much effort went into providing this continued amount of content.
I wonder why there is a 45 Minute countdown in the Polluted Sky Battle Arena... and if i even want to find out...
I'm going mental here! Easily gotten everything out of the Missions Version, however i just CANT beat the last level of this one. i always die to the mass attack of ring ships.
is there ANY efficient counter-strategy to 87 rings ships? T_T
This game creates difficulty by simply CHEATING on procs. i mean come on, Voyage Home mission 2 lost 5 times in a row with 64 CONSECUTIVE JAMS? seriously?
good thing: giving the player a short invincibility shield after spawning.
BAD thing: having enemies with homing pistols and this shield spawn in the player 2v1 killing him immediatly.
also, seriously, the "buddies" in Raze 1 were a pain, you took an epic amount of time to make part 2 and your idea of creating difficulty is still the same? i am disappointed.
i was hoping to see the story of last stand 1 and 2 continued. this sidescrolling is nice and everything but not the kind of gameplay i expected. Had tons of that in ZSMD...
also, not only is it annoying when your headphones explode because zombies are bursting out of the ceiling, but the house will even repair itself if you once go to an adjacent room and back. litte strange, why would the zombies care repairing it AFTER they burst through and you put them to rest :D
Actually this game gave me everything its title + description promised me, i enjoyed it and i give it a 4/5. however, improvements indeed could be adding a simple music track (theres loads of good music tracks for a game like this on newgrounds, all you gotta do is give credit to the music creator in your game and you could have a cool soundtrack) and slightly less random rotation on your bar. maybe give the player the chance to actually speed up the turning by using the mousewheel!
there are a few absolutely dislikeable things about this game. if you dont play perfect at day one, you will live a lot shorter, basically you should reload the game until at least the first 3 days are all perfect games, in order to get your house upgraded faster.
also, the randomness in the distance when chickens start to shoot your castle is SO annoying, i cant stress out how much i hate them. the need for perfect days also makes long-range classes look way more powerfull early on.
this is, by far, the best flash game ive ever played. call me a fan of epic stories, but this one is really great. if this had been an anime instead, i would probably have watched it a hundred times. at some point, the shooter-stuff becomes the obstacle to unlock the next part of the story ^^ so if you ever make something this epic again, consider giving it a "story mode" where you can skip out the unnecessary battles late.
