"Trying every random combination is admirable, but sadly, this doesn't work."
Yeah well sorry young lady but if I have no damn idea what the hell I'm supposed to do after clicking everything for 20 minutes well yeah of course I'm going to try that long cable on some machine. How about SOMETHING would give you SOME KIND OF A HINT as to what to do? No, what you get instead is "This spring has sprung ... HA! I made a funny!" ... Come to think of it, I don't even know if I unlodged that one item that was lodged back there.

At what point of the design process for the game did you guys sit down and go "Well ... after 20 seconds, the player will just run in circles and kite like 40 enemies before lining them up and killing them all by bashing J" and everyone at the table went like "Well god damn, that's a good idea if I ever heard one!" 1/5
If you ever feel down a bit just remember that at some point in time someone play-tested this and completely f-ed up their ship layout when they clicked on a gun in the front and somehow pulled an engine all the way from the back to the cursor and thought to themself "Well this is clearly working as intended!" and the game went on to reach 5.8+m plays.
"[..] and then they're gonna watch a 30 second vid to open their pinata to get bonuses like the tabasco bottle!"
"Cool, this way we'll make some money and the players are gonna love to use those bonuses to get a boost for their achievements!"
"... Achievements? Wait, what do you mean "they're gonna use them"?"
"Well, they are going to be able to save them for later, right?"
"Umm ... maybe. Maybe ... But yeah, as I was saying, the pina-"
"What about the bosses, are they going to be able to choose them too?"
"The hell are you talking about, of course not! They'll cycle through the bosses as they defeat them one after the other!"
"... Errmm .."
"And before that, they'll cycle through their launchadors! I mean, who the hell would want to be able to choose that anyways?"
"... Alright ... alright. But uhh ... why does it take me ten launaches to upgrade Teddy Flare to lvl 2 even though I picked up a 75% discount?"
"Well people LOOOVvee a grind! But as I said, the pinatas ..."
