After 30 hours of play I have this to say
1. There is very little reason to progress past 1k favor before reset as the higher favor breakpoints are too high for more blessings.
2. Going military feels weak and bad, it's only necessary to defend against the initial wave from Babylon and Thebes.
3. Same as military trade also feels bad, and culture and science have 0 value at the end of a cycle, being able to convert science/culture into happiness/health/favor would make them useful past their tree completion.
4.There are problems with the text wrapping for me once the numbers get high enough and can make it hard to find information.
Overall, game is entertaining for a while but there isn't a clear goal as the game makes it incredibly underwhelming to go long. With no incentive to reach high breakpoints in favor it feels pointless to even play that long before a reset, and it feels bad to try military.
Looks like people that have complaints about the game play aren't properly utilizing the pause and interrupt system, I had nearly no problems progressing at a fairly quick rate until the very end where I had to learn the attacks and timings. Would Love to see a NG+ for this or Different Class that had different spells. Quite enjoyable shortish game. Only thing I would change is maybe balance the stat on level up variance, I ended up having much more defense and life than attack through almost the entire playthrough.
I don't think I've had more fun with a card game since I first discovered MTG, many many years ago, the level of strategy and theory crafting is just so good. Can't wait to see more.
