I finally managed to beat it, I had everything else but the flint stone. For those having difficulty most of what you'll need you'll find in the cave entrance you have to look very closely for the item to spot it.
Took me a while but I finally completed all the challenges. Got to say some of the last three or four challenges (particularly challenge 20) are just pot luck on the draw of the cards. V.G. game though.
It's well made, but I feel so under pressure to hurry to keep the score up which is ever decreasing and so I can't take my time over this game (which is what I like to do with Mahjong) and even worse that I get points deducted if I clicked on a tile to select and then deselect it. It's good for someone who wants more pressure to push themselves faster and better in this game, but not my cup of tea.
Two main draw backs that this game suffers from. 1) The traps are way way to sensitive to a tiny error on your part. 2) When you die you have to go right back to the start again. Why not allow so many lives during a stage and balance it out by allowing the player restart again? this is particularly true if you're planning to add a lot more levels.
I love the retro look, feel and sound to it. Would have been nicer if it was a bit longer and the levels a bit more involved (not sure how to put that) but definately fun though not the most replayable game. Totally fun though for a one off play :)
Overall I don't think the game was too bad, it did feel sluggish though as the speed of the character felt a slow and there was what I felt was a bit of a problem with the controls that if you jumped and then let go of the direction key you stopped moving. To up the ante on this game move away from the simple jump-duck-jump-duck routine and some more varity to the game.
I made it to about 700 odd clicks before I accidently clicked on something that caused the page to load something else and lose all my progress. I was bored and just wanted to see what was going to happen as I clicked more and more, not going through that again though.
I played through it and got stuck in the pizza shop, the last clickable item, kept clicking it but wouldn't break so I couldn't even finish this well... game?
Music is great, the story is interesting, animation good. Whilst the combat is system is good, well done and thought out it's not quite my cup of tea is it reminds me of the old Final Fantasy games. But kudos, real real kudos to the creators of this game, it's a real good piece of work.
Once you figure out which is a real ball you can kind of keep a track of it and play the game but there's no way of figuring out which one the real ball is to start off with which makes it frustrating to play initially.
I love the expressions of the main character and the monkies. Made me chuckle. I did have a problem with being killed by the monkies though. There was often a fair bit of space between us (measuring somewhere about 0.5cm to 1cm) and I'd die. Getting the timing to kill the monkies can be really tough because of this as they move a lot faster than you at times. Might also help if your character moved a little faster too, especially when transitioning between screens.
Wasn't much difference between easy and hard difficulties. You need to randomise the direction that the ball travels in either up or down with some sideways movement so that it's not so predictable and you can't just set up your bat so you win every point without having to move.
Interesting little catching game but the only drawback in my eyes are the controls for moving left and right. If you're trying to move to catch a particular butterfly you first press the left or right arrow to start moving in that direction then press the opposite arrow to halt your movement. It would have been slightly more controllable if the bear moved only whilst I was holding down the arrow key.
