My one complaint with this game is that when you die the first time, you often get killed again immediately by the side lasers. Other than that, quite fun.
To add on to the resource complaints, if you have resources in the crafting grid when you change screens (say, by accidentally hitting recipes) it would probably be a good idea to return the resources to the stockpile, rather than having them simply disappear. This is especially annoying when you only have precisely enough resources to make the item, and no idea when you will find more of those resources.
Its kind of annoying that both of my save games are gone (had to get both in order to get all of the achievements, which I only did to benefit myself for the new game...). What is more annoying is that I can't even replay this game at the moment because of the black screen issue. As such, I am glad you are addressing it. Maybe if I am lucky the save file wasn't deleted... digging through my comp I shall go...
How exactly does armor work in this game? I have been stuck on the Unholy Temple for a while, and after ten tries, swapped my armor setup. This new setup had 44 armor instead of 47 armor, which I figured was an acceptable loss for the increases. I was operating under the assumption that a 3 reduction in armor would indicate a 3 increase in damage taken (ie 1 point of armor reduces 1 point of damage, to a min of 1), but the skeleton knight hit for 17, same as prior to the armor change.
Now I am wondering if the armor is a percent reduction in damage, which would work if the damage is not rounded to the nearest integer. Would be useful if this was more clearly explained.
so, is there a particular reason why the enemies don't always respawn? Considering one can drop a quest, this makes it possible that the player can get stuck in the storyline and unable to progress further.
If there were some marking of what tiles yielded treasure, or if the number on the tiles went down as adjacent treasures were discovered, this would be a solid 5/5 in my book. However, neither of these conditions are true, which means that unless one has an eidetic memory or is willing to write down every tile where they found something, the numbers quickly become misleading.
3/5, (more like 3.4, but meh)
Sorry if this has already been asked, but is there a way to save a file to your kongregate account, such that you could open it with another computer? My current computer is on the way out, and I would rather not have to spend 48 hours getting an equivalent save on my new comp, if it is in any way avoidable.
I seem to have encountered a glitch, which prevents me from picking up Lorem Tablet VI (or at least that is what I assume it is, as it is the only thing I have yet to pick up. Under the concentric circles, if that helps). I have apparently completed all objectives, however, as I have all endings shown as complete. However, I am curious as to what the final observation was... anyone want to shoot me a whisper with the text from that tablet?
If you go all the way to the left on the third chapter, you can fall off the screen, which lands you on some random stuff, looks like part of the second chapter. There is a checkpoint there, which if you hit it gets you stuck at that point.
I really, really hated pixies, until I realized Elywen's Dolorous Dirge can basically two hit them.
Really, really great game, 5/5 and favorite'd, just like the last. Keep them coming!
Okay, first: It would have been more amusing if at the end you find out he is the only crazy one, and he just killed an entire crew of regular humans (that is where it seemed like it was heading, anyways). Second: Re the last level scene with the three yellows, the woman with the head coming out of her breast and the worm coming out of where her, you know, should be... highly disturbing.
Still, 4/5 for good gameplay. Sprint could have used a key to hold down, rather than a double tap.
The picture between the display and the input is highly distracting and interferes with short term visual memory. A black screen, for say, three seconds, would probably be as effective in preventing the detection of color changes, while not distracting the player. Also, some of the squares appear after the others, which may be a fault of my computer and not the game, so I will ignore that in my judgment.
3/5 (rounded up from 2.5)
Short but rather fun. The Delorean was rather funny.
Oh, and mdcastle, the gear system is what makes the game good (too many games have you driving automatic), and if you've ever drove a large truck, you would know they flip almost as easily as the game portrays.
