Great game, terrible levels. These empty rooms with rockets to jump over are incredibly repetitive and limit the usefulness of focus, somewhat defeating the purpose of the only mechanic in the game.
Also there's a ton of them.
Can we get an option to not start at 100? Maybe say half our current top score? It takes a while to get up to a speed where the game becomes challenging.
Other than that, superb game. The visuals and sound work very well together -- whipping through endless black tubes makes the game feel a little eerie at high speed, not that you have time to notice.
The game has a serious issue with difficulty curve. The later stages are difficult and require good usage of all your abilities to gain extra speed. Unfortunately, all your abilities are incredibly inconsistent. Boost is very hit and miss, depending upon how the rear wheel connects to the ground and jump is even less reliable -- yet you largely need these abilities to complete the later races, making the whole thing feel a bit luck based.
Try as I might, I wasn't able to avoid relaxing during the reverse coffee break. Even mashing my keyboard wildly and screaming at my monitor was still soothing to my little blue elephants nerves.
Was having some fun until someone decided to put the surrender button in the same place as the go button, accidentally giving up all my cargo/gold/time/effort.
That kinda blows.
whippynut: Rock, paper, scissors.
If your opponent uses paper a lot, you should really try scissors, instead of going for rock and complaining about it.
Working on a way of skipping the slow bit :)
