I figured out the bug : for some reason I was above the rune soft cap (I had 14 runes and the soft cap is at 10). When I used a bunch of rune on quick trials and went below 10, I was able to craft an item, fill out the rune gauge and not crash the game.
Apparently, filling the Rune gauge to the max when crafting an item crashes the game. I was able to replicate it several times and I think this is my first rune ever. Hope that can help with the bug fix.
It would be cool to have a time attack mode (or in speedrunning terms any%) that records the time between the beginning of the game until the first final boss defeat. During my second playthrough I managed to finish the game with far less upgrades (1 upgraded skill and 1 normal skill, missing 25 upgrades in total). I was really proud of this run but the only time recorded was the last run Thankfully I streamed it so I can actually time the run myself. I think the game has a huge speedrunning potential but you need to have another global timer to record said times. Great game !
Thanks, I'm glad you caught onto what I was going for. I thought it'd be fun to design a game based on your loot decision speed and see where it went with that. It was really fun exploring this game design and watching people develop crazy optimized strats for it!
@FrozenStalker You're right I played the game again a couple of days ago to get the medium badge too. They changed the BotD to easy in between. it doesn't really matter though, i had fun trying to optimize earlier levels to get those missing %.
Ok I tested a bit further and here is what I found :
Challenge Reach 625 Gen I works fine (completed)
Challenge Reach 1100 Gen I works fine (completed)
Challenge Reach 1000 Gen I doesn't load properly
Challenge Reach 625 Gen II doesn't load properly neither
The bugged challenges appear to load a normal prestige run instead. Reaching the goal w/ this bugged prestige run doesn't complete the challenge. Hope this helps fixing the problem.
Bug in the latest version : the "reach 675 Gen II challenge w/ Gen I & II only (no cruncher)" does not start. Yes, I completed the previous challenge (625 Gen I) so it's not related.
I really felt liked solving the puzzles instead of just using trial and error. Great design, some of the latter levels were really interesting ! 5/5 and fav
If you need magic or health, walk back and forth between 2 cleared rooms to fight fiends and ghost, which are very likely to drop potions. When you reach chaos magic, do not pick up any more magic. Do not stand still and clic enemies. It is far more effective to circle around them. You still hit enemies at full attack speed, and you are less likely to be hit by missile attacks. On the early levels, use your dash when entering a new room and circle the enemies do death. Bosses are hard to circle around, but you only need to strafe during the entire fight to evade most of the boss attacks. Be carefull fighting off the Blob boss, he can damage you with a fire aura. Remember that you won't be able to heal with fiend/ghost during the first 2 rooms following a boss fight so be carefull. Look for +proc items, you will absolutely destroy everything in your pass just walking by enemies.
I don't understand how you can PAR the BLN-4770 (blue galaxy) level without the laser weapon. I managed to PAR every single other level (including the 200k hidden last level and the 900k bonus level with 45/99 special collects), but I have absolutely no clue for this one : Rocket weapon is too sh!tty, slowing missile shield is useless for farming points, and you should not bomb because it greatly diminishes the final multiplier bonus. You are bound to blaster/absorbing shield, and this weapon does not do enough damage to asteroids on this level. Also, minor bug, when you max out your ship (level 81), the whole upgrade screen becomes dark.
I cannot finish the game in hard mode, nothing happens when the last wave is over. It seems like the mouse is lagging, all you can do is press escape and quit the game. My setup : maxed gauss rifle, max reload/firerate/damage/clip size/critical/death critical/rifleman/money. 1 point in hatred (autokill perk), maxed house. I have tried the 25th wave 3 times already, nothing happens after the last zombie dies. No problem on normal difficulty, strange.
